2014 Scion Tuner Challenge Competitors: Super Street, Speedhunters and GT Channel!

Even outside of the annual Scion Tuner Challenge, there are always plenty of killer tCs and xBs at SEMA. Given both the band and the show have penchant for crazy customs, the pairing goes together like chocolate and peanut butter. In 2012, the FR-S was the car of the show—you couldn’t throw a rock without hitting one. Though in all honesty, you shouldn’t really throw rocks at SEMA, with all the pricey paint jobs and all.

That said, I think we got shots of every FR-S there that year.

Last year, the tC was the focus of the Tuner Challenge, but for 2014 the focus has flipped back to the FR-S, and Scion has lined up some pretty talented to folks to face off. Super Street, Speedhunters, and GT Channel are all building cars which will be judged in Scion’s booth. Now, I’m all for the best man—or car, I guess—winning, but I’m going to be pulling for the gang from Speedhunters.

Before he shot exclusively for Speedhunters—and developed a deserved reputation as being one of the best in the business—ace photographer Larry Chen did photography for me, and I was always stunned at how fast he was able to deliver his shots.
