Consumer Reports Hates the 2014 tC (And other Cars)

If you consider yourself a car enthusiast of any kind, you’re probably not going to factor in the opinion of Consumer Reports for any of you major automotive decisions. Their target market is a person who couldn’t tell the difference between a Fiat and a Ferrari. I’m exaggerating, but you get the idea. That’s why their current review of the tC isn’t particularly relevant to me. It also explains why they kind of hated it.

We had one for a while and found it mostly enjoyable, but the guys at Consumer Reports took great issue with things we found to be otherwise minor foibles. Yes, it rides “hard,” I guess, compared to a Camry. Yes, it lacks a backup camera and an expensive interior, but it also only costs about $20,000. No, it’s not fast, but what Scion is? Even the sportiest sports car in their lineup, the FR-S, is a slow car. The list of complaints go on.

Other cars they want you to avoid? Well, they didn’t like the iQ, the Lexus IS, or the BMW 7-Series either among other things. To each their own I guess.
