Ferrari 458 Engine Swap in Toyota GT86

By -

Formula Drift’s own Ryan Tuerck has made quite a name for himself, as both a top tier United States drifter and as a budding YouTube personality. Having hosted an online series entitled Tuerck’d, he’s recently been involved with Donut Media doing fun video projects and adding even more personality to a sport already filled with characters.

His latest project is an absolute masterclass in a game where extraordinary is the expectation: take a Toyota GT86 and replace the naturally aspirated FA20 engine with the 4.5L, 9000RPM V8 from a Ferrari 458 Italia. This mad little car has been dubbed: GT4586. Just in time for SEMA, the car has been caged, painted and the swap has been made to run, which is an amazing feat of engineering considering all of the tech involved with the Ferrari engine.

Looking beyond the technicality and difficulties of this nutty engine swap, we have to stop and appreciate this howling lunatic of an automobile. Just listen:
