Why Toyota? Why? Why do you tease us so? Why do you leave all of your coolest stuff inside Japan? Seriously, do you think everyone in America are just a bunch of squares? Didn’t you ever listen to the song, It’s Hip to be a Square! We like cool stuff now bring it over!

That little tirade was because in Japan, Toyota launched the GT86 14R60, a track ready Toyobaru twin ready to hunt down all those over powered non turning supercars and it looks glorious.

Toyota threw a bunch of fun go faster goodies onto the car including a oil cooler, new air intake, stiffer engine mounts, and revised ECU for better throttle response, a center exit exhaust, new trans internals and a bunch of chassis stiffening to get this car to stay in the corners harder than ever before.

Part of the upgrades include a close ratio transmission with is where the new car gets its name, 14R-60 gears.

Pretty much everything has been improved on the car, except the engine. That is still churning out only the stock 200hp, but will all the improvements Toyota made with every single other aspect of the car, it’s set to hit the track like a scalded rat! Maybe though it’s good Toyota didn’t bring this over to the States, the 14R60 when it goes on sale only comes in Crystal White and costs $58,500. And for that, you can get something already setup for the track and the street and considerably faster. Like an Ariel Atom.
