Scion Racing Drifts an FR-S With Skateboarders
Extreme sports is an all-encompassing term. It can include skateboarding, motorized sports like drifting and moto-cross, or big mountain skiing. Today, however, it’s a mash up between the first two sports mentioned above: drifting and Skateboarding. Scion Racing, professional driver Ken Gushi, and Baker skateboarding team met up at Buttonwillow raceway in California to swap some ideas and shred some tires.
The car of choice is the TRD Racing Scion FR-S that’s been turbocharged — something we’ve been wanting Toyota to do for the standard FR-S for a while now — and tuned to be a great all-around drift machine. After a bit of skateboarding, Gushi grabs skateboarder Andrew Reynolds and takes him on the ride of his life.
Now if only Scion and Toyota would just put this car and its wonderful engine into production! Seriously Toyota, it’s time to give the FR-S the power it deserves. If this video doesn’t prove that, we don’t know what will.
