I stopped by to "look" at their xB's. They had one on the lot that had aftermarket wheels, looked great in Shadow Mica btw, but was an automatic and they couldn't find the keys to let me drive it. I traded in a car with a few issues but I did get less than I'd hoped for.
Overall the sales people didn't know a lot about Scion even though they'd been through the "training" program. I actually knew a little more due to my own research.
The salesman I dealt with Lee Durham was very helpful and made my experience extremely easy compared to other dealerships I'd dealt with in the past. He showed me the next allotment of vehicles they were expecting and the various options they had. He was also nice enough to take my new ride to get the windows tinted before I picked it up.
I'd also highly recommend Andy (parts manager I think) who was very helpful. The overall Scion presentation (full tank, clean car etc) was excellent. Financing was easy and uneventful. :) I'd buy from them again.
I just moved to NM from Alaska. I contacted Scion salesman Andy Palmer by phone one week before my arrival. He was totally straightforward, very informative, and extremely helpful overall. And he gave me absolutely no high-pressure sales talk, which I did hear from some other Scion dealers that I called.
During the week before I arrived, Andy sent my silver xA to get cruise control installed. I flew into Albuquerque to spend the night, and the next morning Andy drove all the way down (100 miles round trip) from Santa Fe to pick me up and take me to my new car. At this point, I was already getting much more than I expected.
The car was all ready as soon as we got back to the dealer. The paperwork went smoothly, and because I was paying cash, Beaver Scion waived the doc and registration fees, allowing me to take care of taxes and registration on my own (saved about $200 this way).
The only catch in the whole experience was some minor paint damage on the car's front bumper. The dealer's sales manager got a body specialist to the lot right away to fix the damage. It took a couple of hours, so Andy took me to lunch during the wait!
Amazing service and total professionalism from beginning to end. Sales consultant Andy Palmer is the epitome of what the Scion buying experience should be: straightforward, no nonsense, and zero pressure. My entire experience at Beaver Scion was beyond what I expected.
I highly recommend Andy Palmer at Beaver Scion, even if you have to fly 3,000 miles to get there. It was worth it for me!
