I went into GO Toyota Scion, John Elway is now GO. The Sales staff was helpful and friendly. I got to test a TCM and I ended up buying a BSP two days later.
My experience up to that point was great! But all good things come to an end. I dealt with Brendan Carlson. He was very friendly, but I would have to second guess his knowledge of the Lending industry. I ended up ditching my Credit union and going with Toyota Financial. All this After all the paper work was done.
2 weeks later, I went to get my plates and the DMV told me the dealership hadn't submitted the proper papers and forms. I still don't have plates! ARGH!! and its almost 2 months later. A check for $480.00 still hasn't been refunded to me!

We decided on checking out the Scion XB. Previously my Wife had purchased a TC from Mountain States Scion, and we had been less than thrilled with the experience. JES/Toyota is about 60 miles from our home, so it was a bit of a trek to get out there, we test drove, the Sales Manager, Tim, was very friendly and cool at that point. Next came the Purchase, I was sold on them, and ready to do the deal. They were not very knowledgeable about accessories; an enormous amount of confusion stemmed from that, the process was about 4 hours, on a Saturday night, with very few people there. Now comes the truly bad part, and the reason I’m not sure if I’ll every go there again. I had to follow up with them several times during the week to find out if my Accessories were in. I personally called the parts department to confirm that they had arrived, finally by Thursday we had setup a Saturday appointment to get it done. It took them most of the day, they managed to forget the Alarm system, now I wait.

This review is for our FIRST xB... (I will submit another upon receipt of my NEW 2006 xB).
Rewind to November 2004...
My wife and I had a 1998 Nissan Altima which we were very upside down in and it needed about $1,500 worth of suspension/brake work. We had seen the xB when we were in San Diego for our Honeymoon in August 2004. She decided she wanted to go to Elway to look around (no one else in the area had any in stock at the time) and she was ready to buy. We found a Black Sand Pearl one we liked (it had the wing) and told them what we had in trade, nothing extra down, and what we could afford. And they made it work. Larry and Christian were awesome.
The only downside was the wait for the finance department due to how busy the dealership was - after all it was the Friday after Thanksgiving!!!
I recommend Elway Auto Collision center on Washington & 72nd as well - my wife was rear ended 10 days after her purchase and they were AMAZING in getting her car repaired!!!
My xB purchase through John Elway was my first dealership experience. That said, here is how it went....
Lucky for me, John elway was the only dealership that would reply to my e-mails. I have been e-mailing back and forth with Pete Holsapple (Toyota Internet Sales) since then. He was extemely helpful. He answered all of my questions honestly, and when he didn't know the answer he would have the Scion Manager (Tim Robinson) research and call me with the answer.
Fast forward to July 26th. Pete let me know that my vehicle had arrived in Colorado from Japan and would be getting the sunroof and subwoofer installed that week. We stayed in touch throughout the week with updates on the install and inspection. August 1st, I went and picked the vehicle up. Everything went very smoothly. The sunroof has a rattle, but Tim has arranged to get that fixed. The only bad thing about the experience was the finance manager was a little pushy.
Definitely go see John Elway!!

This is our second buying experience from Elway Toyota/Scion. Pete Holsapple sold us a 2004 Prius in August 2004. Took excellent care of us during the 4-month waiting process! Agonizing because we would only take a Salsa Red, and Pete made sure we were in the loop all the way.
Returned to Elway Scion the end of June 2005 to check out the xA. Met Tim Robinson and Doug McConnell that day, while Pete was with another client. Doug took us out for test drives on the xA and the xB. I was really really impressed by the xB's design, great ride and fun factor!
July 16th Pete and Tim walked us through the process. I had configured my xB online through Scion.com. Tim found the color I wanted and pulled the vehicle for me. Took delivery on the 29th, everything was ready to go, with all my options. The financing process was again hassle-free. Pete did the final walk-thru on the vehicle, Tim made sure we were happy with the xB.
Recommend Elway over any Denver dealer! EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!!

Folks, I can't recommend these people enough if you are looking to purchase a Scion. I am a finance manager for a car dealer, so I understand the business, and how a customer "should" be treated. I actually purchased my xA, fully customized with body kit. lowering springs, wheels, tires, tint, headers, intake, lighting, everything, via the Internet, with only a final email picture of what the car ended up looking like. When I received delivery of it, despite a few issues that the dealer identified "prior" to delivery, the car exceeded every expectation I had. I never even drove it!
Actually, John Elway Scion delivered the car to me, and I live over 60 miles away. And, due to a miscommunication, they actually delivered it twice in the same day, as I wasn't there in the morning.
Dealing with the entire John Elway Scion staff was the most pleasant buying experience I have ever had, and really made this purchase a ton of fun. The car is purchased as a show/competition car, and will be a new demo vehicle for RE Audio, and I have over $20k of audio equipment to install in it. This, obviously, requires alot of planning and work, and it's nice to know that John Elway Scion of Denver allowed me to concentrate on this aspect of the car, while they handled everything else.
I couldn't think of a better Scion dealer to do business with. While I met alot of great "salespeople" during my look for a Scion, John Elway Scion of Denver was the only real "dealership", in it's entirety, that seemed interested in making my purchase happen and interested in my needs. And, my wife and I are a very high credit score and could have paid cash for the car, so it's not like we were "credit challenged".
Christian, Bobby, and that very cute blonde lady that helped deliver my vehicle, thank you very much, and you will certainly be getting alot of business from me in the future. The John Elway Scion decals will stay on my Scion for along time to come!!!
Oh, I gave the facility rating a 9 only because I was never there, and didn't want an all 10 rating to be deleted.
Kind Regards,
Matt

I requested my Scion Xa July 23rd this year, It did not arrived until August 31st. When it arrived, none of the upgrades I had requested (in July) were in, The only things they had were the cold air intake and lowering springs, They then told me that the exhaust, Header, and wheels, were on back order, so I took my new Scion home minus all the backorderd parts. I had an appointment to have a clear bra installed following week ,when I took it back to the dealership they did the install, but somehow burned out my A/C compressor. So now I have to take the car back to have that fixed and later take it in for the backordered parts. I like the salespeople at John Elway, but I am very frustrated with the service department.

I wanted to let everyone know who is in the market to buy a new XB XA or TC. John Elway and the whole Scion team make the process easy and stress free. Also Christian the Scion manager took time on his day off to come see that my performance parts were put on right and on time. I will only shop here from now on!!!!!

I actually did not get to buy my car from elway. i was forced into buying it from stevenson east (do not buy at stevenson east)
I gave stevenson a deposit on a tC and then decided to shop around. i then went to elway, (the difference is like night and day.) the salesman there (larry elwood) was very nice and knowledgeable, the manager (although very young) was very honest and friendly they both impressed us so much that we called stevenson and dropped our order with them.
turns out stevenson had the only black cherry tC in denver and the next avalable car was 5 weeks away. we caved and bought it at stevenson.
after the sale, we went back to elway and bought leather for my tC there, they did a great job and i would definely return to buy another car from elway. (maybe an xB for my husband)

My experience with John Elway Toyota/Scion was an overall very positive experience and they made the entire process very painless.
I first contacted them via the internet in June of 2004. Brendan Carlson return the email and was very helpful.
The first time my wife & I went in we were going to trade in our current car for a Camo xB. The dealership didn't give us what we wanted/needed out of it and they were very "low pressure" when we told them it wasn't going to work with their current offer. So we walked on that day.
We sold our car ourselves and then put a deposit down for a Thundercloud xB in a manual, which we had to wait almost 4 weeks for.
When the vehicle came in the closing process was very easy and quick. We financed the vehicle through our own credit union at a much better rate than they could give us, and again they were very "low pressure" in trying to make us finance through them. Almost no pressure to get us to upgrade to extended warranties, unwanted options, etc - they told us about them, but when we said "no" that was usually the end of the discussion.
One frustrating part is that John Elway required a NON REFUNDABLE $1000 deposit when ordering a car - somethng that I flat out refused to give them. They "made an exception" for me and I have them a $500 refundable deposit which I got in writing. Don't let them push you around on this.
The day I gave them the deposit, I was in a rush for an appointment, I had about 15 mintues and they ended up wasting 30 minutes of my time - which pissed me off and made me a little late for my appointment. The fact that they couldn't respect my schedule is a negative in my opinion - but I suppose I should have know better.
For the most part I delt with Brendan Carlson, but a salesman named Brian Bailey also helped when Brendan wasn't available. In fact Brian did all the closing details for us. Personally, I would recommend going to Brian.
