Upon arriving at the dealership we were greeted easily by our future salesman "Brian" He was not in the least bit pushy and very informative. After my husband and I looked over the vehicles and asked tons of questions we explained our very poor credit situation and Brian didn't treat us any different after we let him know that we couldn't buy at that time.
I also wanted to add that we noticed the prices were below that of other local dealerships. That fact along with straight forward. Blue book trade in values. says alot about the dealership!!
The only thing left to negotiate will be a fair APR.rate.......
I am looking forward to purchasing my Scion tC or xB? not sure what it will be until our test drive......Anyway, I would recommend this dealership even thou we have not made a purchase yet....

Since my civic was stolen i needed to replace my car. I stopped by Ron Tonkin becuase i used to work for them as a Honda salesman. I was glad to see all 3 models were on display and i could sit in them, I only found later that the TC was already sold and was picked up shortly after. I really think that since there is such a wait for the xb and tc scion should send each dealer a designated display ,test drive only model. Anyhow i was told i'd have to wait about a month to get an XB and left disappointed because i needed a car in a week. I just happened to come back an hour later to see about ordering one and a black auto xb just happened to show up off the truck, so i bought it. The staff there was quite friendly and not real pushy at all. Bob Brecken was the salesman i delt with and was quite knowledgable about the xb. Oh and the non-negotiable , no addendum price was actually a pleasant suprise. I hope other maunufacturers listen up and follow Scion, it makes the whole process a lot easier.

Due to their volume and dealer group size, I thought Tonkin would be the way to go. I've heard nothing but good things from friends and they are also a client of the company I work for, so I thought I'd get some respect. Before finally deciding to buy from Thomason, I worked with an internet sales manager at Tonkin in figuring out the details of my trade, when the xB's would be in, etc. On the day of my official appointment to work out the numbers, he called and said he'd be late and to ask for his assistant when I got there, whom I knew from a friend that's bought from her. She was with a customer when I arrived so they pawned me off on some other guy who wasn't really friendly or knowledgeable. He gave me all the info I needed, but I don't like these games where you get pawned off on someone else and don't get taken seriously because you're buying a purely-priced vehicle that isn't a $25,000 4-Runner. If Tonkin took the Scion line more seriously and stuck to their word, I would have bought from them.

Disappointed. This is the feeling that I felt as I walked away from the dealership.
This is a pretty large Toyota dealership, so large that I had a tough time locating the Scion showroom. In fact, I never actually DID locate the Scion showroom. I was able to find their two demo cars parked out in the parking lot off to the side. As I stood next to them a salesman walked over. As soon as I made it clear that I didn't actually want to buy a car, just to talk to someone about them he pawned me off and walked away.
The guy that I talked to seemed very busy and did not speak english clearly. I wasn't sure he was understanding me because he had a glazed look in his eye and didn't really seem to be acknowledging my questions.
Ron Tonkin dealerships have a reputation for being the "sleazy"-salesman-type that give dealers a bad stereotype. Looks like the one thing they did well was live up to that stereotype.
