Yeah, I just got off the phone with the shop, they sanded down today and they are spraying primer tomorrow. But its gonna take a while because red genie and bbist and some other people are lagging a bit... I hope it doesnt take longer than i expected. It should have been done in 2 weeks . No digi cam :cry: .. I saw my poor baby today!! It was so lonesome...I wanted to just drive it home... No front bumper or lights, no rear bumper or lights... My poor baby...And it's offically being painted today. I took home the headlights and tails as well. Probably am going to remove the reflector in the heads and paint my tails in the down time.... I miss my box :cry:

I know the two methods of clearing the headlight my question is by using the screwdriver hammer method does it scratch the inner housing at all I know if you are careful and stuff but just looking at the reflector and putting a screwdriver to it seems that you will still scratch something and also what is the most effective method of the srewdriver method do you use a flat head a philips, so you you hit the middle of the reflector or the top or bottom area and what other hints and advice is there for a proper way of doing it.

My first headlight I left a small scratch on the lens because I was pounding that reflector HARD. Little too hard.. The second headlight I left a small scratch on the inside of the housing, near the light bulb hole. Based on what i did, Your best bet is to break the reflector into 6 pieces. That way all will come easy.....Otherwise you'll pull out the large pieces and scratch the inside like I did. Also, you wouldn't want to try to break larger pieces already broken with a screw driver.. thats means for "bye bye headlight"

Very true. I used a pair of cutters with a long nose and broke it into pieces through the opening. Luckily i did not scratch or crack my headlight.
I keep getting emails of people wanting me to do their clear headlight. See this is why i dont want to mess with anyone else's car.

It looks like it's a mix of both packaging and shipping and handling. There was not support/cushion on the corners of the hood. Just a little bit of stuffin inside to make sure the hood wouldnt crack it dropped on the side. Doesn't look like they wrapped the corners. Also for UPS for dropping the damm thing. Anyone know how I can get ahold of MARK @ SP? I need a hood.. !!!!!!!!! :x

i've seen ALOT of body kits, and I think I'd want this one above all else. Van, do you know if it'll fit USDM xBs? if so, can you get the kit? also, more 411 on those wheels!

The pearl is usually mixed in to the clear coat. Sometimes, people lay the pearlized clearcoat on... and then a finishing clearcoat over all that for the deepness. Hmmmm... either way though, you gotta take some nice shots of that thing at dusk when you get it back, DanG!

About the kit: It's made by NKB Power, which is a division of Seiken from Japan. And yes, I loooove that grille too! I don't know why, but that whole front end just looks sooooo clean. That particular kit in the pictures is made for the kouki (late model) bB, so it should fit on the USDM xBs. I'm going to try and talk to them at Tokyo Auto Salon next weekend, and maybe see about officially bringing their stuff over. Gonna see if I can order a personal set, too. :)

The wheels on the red car are NKB's Mesh wheels in a 16x8, +35mm front, and 16x9, +30mm in back. See, you don't gotta go big diameter to look bad ___! :)

EDIT: Oh yah about the camber in the back, looks like they accentuated the stock camber with some shims. Probably just 2 degree shims though.. it wouldn't look so weird if they cambered the front to match!

I think the dead giveaway for the JDM vs. USDM kits is the liscense plate.. I think all bBs have the plate in the bumper... and the xBs have them in the hatch... so if you see a kit with no plate hole and the plates on that hatch best bet is its for a USDM xB.. I could be wrong Im not all knowing but thats how I have been guaging what should and should not fit w/o Mods.. :twisted:

There are two version of the Toyota bB. The first version had the license plate in the rear bumper. The later version , have the license plate where the xB has it, in the hatch.

from what iknow the rear should fit fine..its the front bumper you might need to cut the bumper support. Thats not biggie though as for most people putting in body kits, they hack away at that bumper support.

RedBox, most likely your 3 stage paint is 1) base coat 2) red candy tint mixed with pearl in a clear medium 3) final clear coats. That's how we did my ghost flames.

For anyone interested in doing candy red with pearl, I would suggest using orange pearl (Tangereen). The red pearl is so pinkish. The orange pearl gives the red candy a deep, lustrous red-red color.

Those red XBs shown above made me drool. Absolutely gorgeous. Wish I could talk my bf into getting one. He has had his heart set on a Toyota Tacoma for years. Bleh!

I dont think i want to put them back on until a show or when it stops raining. They are 18x7.5 Bronze ADR fuels, they are just like scionaras old 5 spokes but bronze. And I'm currently working with van to get the rims on the NA JACK car.. Look in that thread to see them.. 8)

It's the corvette Magnetic red. I Wanted to do red to be different. The didnt really make a red xB (black cherry isnt red) so i figured why not. I havent seens a red xB either.

I think the Axis TC Evo like the ones I had before in gunmetal then paint the rings the same color of the car if the red rings don't match well.

Those are still my favorite wheels out of all the ones I had before..

If you need them I can get you some good prices..

Their wheels are great and you can't beat the prices compared to some of the JDM wheels...I love the JDM wheels ( I have a couple of sets myself) but the prices are so much higher .... you can get a lot more for your money....

Now if you are racing on the track..then that is a different story..JDM all the way...

On another note.. I came to gabes shop to get my old muffler slapped on the box. Gabe informed me that it would scrape all over the place, and didn't recommend me doing it. He could has easily taken my money and put in on there. GABE YOU'RE THE ____!! I highly recommend his axel back BTW, as it is very high quality and gabe deserves all the sales you can guys can help him with. 8)

Yes that's a red genie lip kit, and those are 18 inch adr fuels in bronze.

And I'm currently working with van to get the rims on the NA JACK car.. Look in that thread to see them.. 8)
