what size power wire are you using?

what size fuse by the battery?

check those two first, i'd recommend 0 or 2 gauge, if not, no lower then 4 gauge for wires.....and i'd put an 80-140 amp fuse in

if those are ok, check your grounds and check to see if the connections are tight at the amp.

i'll have to think if there's anything else i could come up with...

if you are using 4 gauge wires for power that maybe your problem, the smallest id have would be 2 gauge, but 0 or 1 is recommended.

maybe you have a spinaltap amp - those only go to 11.

bells just started ringing when you said 13

you need to see if the amp is going into protect mode or cutting off.
if its going into protect mode your ground sucks or you have an rca or power turn on wire grounding out.
also check the wires that actually attach to the speakers as they may be loose or corroded.
also do you lights dim alot? i wouldnt think they would with that amp, its not that big. but in any case if they do your alternator could be dropping voltage too low. get a multimeter, put your leads on the amps input and ground, then have one of your friends crank it up. if it drops below 11 volts your amp is protecting itself and your probably losing your alternator.

I doubt its the amp cause i had the same problem awhile back. My problem was i wired the amp and sub wrong so it was cutting off cause i didnt buy a mono amp. I would make sure that you wired the amp for one sub though

ground point looks decent. now that someone else mentioned it, what ohms do you have the amp running at?

the JL amp is set to its own OHM configuration depenting on the sub so if it senses that the sub is 2 OHm the amp runs 2 OHm and it its 3ohms like my W7 it runs at 3........the sub stops working when u put up the volume no matter what gain or equlizer is set 2................

Well, it's a / series, which means it has RIPS. and it's a 10W7 which means it's an SVC 3 ohm...no way to really screw up that wiring
