Admittedly, it's kinda jank. I had painted my black caps and now I have trim rings. It's okay, but they aren't really for showing off.

Ive got 2 separate sets of 3, of wheel covers....Ive lost the right rear, on both sets, make fast tight right turns.....and I NEVER see where they end up. So now...Im all about the Steelie look!

Mmmmm...maybe with trims rings or something else to jazz 'em up, but just plain ol' black steel wheels look like somebody just stole your wheel covers...

I think no wheel covers -- especially if the steelies have chrome lug nuts and trim rings -- looks better than wheel covers that allow the steel to show through . . . like the stock wheel covers, for example. I would MUCH rather see either hubcaps over just the hub portion or full-coverage wheel covers. The stock ones and their ilk look like you're trying to get the look of non-steel wheels, but with the steel showing through, they look PHONY!!

You have to paint the covers with color matching paint to take your eye away from the gloss black rims underneath. I did mine in white and they look WAY BETTER than the boring silver that they are painted. Maybe a blacker glossy black paint on the steel rims would work or even a flat instead of the factory matt finish.

i was bored one day and started thinking of all the reasons why i seem to like steelies better than hubcaps. besides, there are plenty of rims out there that are far uglier than the pattern on steelies.

i ran no caps for a while till i got my disks.

Trim rings and center caps for me.

I rocked blackouts for over a year and a half. just bought 17x7 blackouts for my toyota pickup

winter = stocks no covers... i like it that way

i think all 3 of your options right now (trim rings, black hubcaps, straight steelie) are all good options man. the trim rings may make the rims look a little bit smaller, but its nowhere near as bad as full silver hubcaps.

id just stay away from the silver hubcaps dude :)

Personally, I don't care for straight steelies. The trim rings...I like.
I keep the wheel covers on mine. I'm just too lazy & cheap to go get trim rings.

What ya do is wax up the steelies real good so they shine then put the rings on and bam, looks like you got new rims. Especially when your cruzin down the freeway no one can tell they are OEM steelies.

one SOME xBs it looks tight, but if there is nothing there but black paint... looks like your 'caps got jacked.... now if you chome your caps and rims then it looks good... but otherwise? save up for some 15-16's... not TOO pricy!

Steelies. o_0 Those look kinda like they came from Wal-Mart. :doh:

so I just had the wheels powder coated and went with the nutz,cups, and rings on both boxes.

nope, is just a standard navy gray pearl
however on the wife's BOP the darkest blue that was standard (BL-2) is nowhere near dark enough... looks like an old school job...
when I get a bit of $$ ahead I'm gonna have to do a custom mix for her's

btw the standard color cost $50 for each wheel, including the media blasting and prep work.

Steelies are best 8). I don't like hubcaps, IMO.

Its funny how I was the first xB...(not really the 1st First xB owner in town, u get the point)....to rock the steelies.....then everyone else saw how my box looks and then jocked my style. NOW, every xB in town has them rocking....all thanks to me.

But here is a personal rule of mines...if u are rocking the steelie, please, have ur box lowered first. Its not right having the steelies on a normal height car.

There's a difference... you can do some work with the tC alloys. I've seen some with decent paint jobs. They look good blacked out too. Either way, the tC has a better starting point as far as shoes.
