After assuring the tires are properly inflated, do the TPM System Reset routine in the Owner's Manual to see if that clears the problem.

^nah its all years i believe (im a scion noob)
but the 07s actually have it connected to the valve stem
the previous years just had it where the abs is

anyways has he resetted the sensor?idk if its the same as the matrix but what i did was hold it till it started blinking
that would reset the sensors

*edit* looks like i was a lil to slow haha

Actual sensors inside the tires started with the 2007 model, but ALL tCs have Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems. Prior to the '07s, the system worked via measuring tire rotation speed using the ABS sensors at the wheel. The ABS system only works by comparing long-term rotational speed of all wheels, and if one is enough different, it assumes it had incorrect pressure and alarms.

This is so annoying! The same thing ALwAYS happens to me. I'll be driving and all of a sudden my tire pressure light comes on, as a matter of fact it went on this morning and all of yesterday, my tires are fine and the stupid thing keeps coming back - sometimes I don't even feel like driving my car simply because I'm afraid to - my boyfriend and I had an accident in his car because of his tires and I get scared... reseting it is not the solution for me...

I reset mine, and now it doesn't go on, even with 20 psi in the back and 45 in the front.

you guys are reseting it the wrong way i believe.

step 1

check and make sure that your tires are inflated to the correct pressure
step 2

turn the ignition switch to the ON position. If the low tire pressure warning light comes on, push and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch (in the glove box) until the warning light turns off and then release the switch.
step 3

now press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the low tire pressure warning light blinks three times.
step 4

initialization is *not* completed until driving at the vehicle speed of 19 mph or over for more than one hour. the tire pressure monitoring starts when initialization is completed.

^^^ What he said!

Just punching the button to turn off the light DOES NOT reset the system.
