Default Question on what my alarm should kill

I'm adding a bit of security to my alarm due to an upcoming move to an area where i feel that my car will not be as safe as it currently is. The alarm has the standard ignition kill which would take me about 2 seconds to get around, so it doesnt really make me feel good that it would stop anyone intent on taking my car. I am planning on adding a fuel pump cut off but was wondering if there was anything else, possibly in the under hood area that i could also add a cut off too. one of my co workers mentioned the ecu, but that really doesnt sound like a good idea to me, actually that sounds like problems to me. what other systems should my alarm disable? please help because i just cant think of anything.

Id recommend an engine immobiliser. They kill the 3 main components of starting a car, the ignition, the fuel system, and the starter motor.

They are only like $175-$200 installed. Just google to find one, they are definately worth it.

The thief's heart. Or at least a few fingers.

I will be doing the install myself and dont really want to pay 200 bucks for something that i can probably do just as good myself for way less. I will look up the engine immobilizers and see what they are. I'm thinking that basically ill just cut the power off to these items with some relays, the fuel is as good as done, but i think while i'm at it ill do something else too. I like the idea of the ignition, ill have to check that out today when i'm working on my car.

as for the heart and fingers, that can all be done once he's inside the car and occupied with trying to get it started...

one thing I used to do is put a switch on the power side of the fuel pump and hide it in my interior... with that switch off, no fuel, and the car wont go anywhere. (unless towed)

I would highly reccomend NOT killing the ignition. have you tried hitting the brakes with the key off? they are good for a couple of pumps then that's it. I understand you are concrned with your vehicle's safety but you need to think about the safety of innocent bystanders.

I would say starter kill and fuel pump kill. or if you are really concerned about your vehicle look into a Trunk Monkey.

how about you just pull the steering wheel out when you move, just reinstall it when you need to go somewhere
