Default sports muffler on automatic?

Hey guys

Before i began i hope its not a lame question.
I have an automatic...i was wondering if any other person has a sports muffler pn their automatic. This isnt about power or anythin cause know you wont gain anything. Im p person that likes the engine sound, i added a short ram and it sounds awesome. But i heard sports mufflers sound like crap on an automatic...is this true??

Sounds just like on a manual. I've run the TRD exhaust and Injen intake for ages and it sounds beautiful.

Sports muffler as in an axle back or the full cat back setups? I have the magnaflow Cat back on my a/t tC and the Injen CAI. It sounds totally sweet when it's warmed up a bit, the main reason is b/c the magnaflow kit is bolt on so it uses like 3 or 4 clamps on the pipes so if you don't get 100% seal on them they get exhaust leaks like mine So, with that being said I get a small amount of rasp when its cold, however I'm going to get a resonator and have all the pipes welding and do away with the clamps since I'm keeping the magnaflow. But seriously, I dont think having and a/t or a m/t would make any difference as they are both using the same engine lol, someone correct me if i'm wrong.

it's personal preference.......... I am against these things on an auto, and it doesnt matter what car.
I cant stand the brahhh................... brahhhhh......... brahhhh..... on-off sound.
But personal preference.

Same. Personally, I don't think automatics should be heard. The drroooonneee... UPSHIFT slightly higher drone.... waaaa .... dronee...

It just doesn't work for me. Maybe for other people (like the 1,000,000,000,000 people with Dodge Rams of F150s), but not me.

I mean, for me, I'd be kind of embarrased to be driving an auto anyway, so it's not something I want to announce to the rest of world anyway. But that's just me. I prefer a linear rise in engine tone (so you can only imagine my incredible annoyance at hearing an engine mated to a CVT )

It's personal preference, I guess. If you want our opinion you just got it

Disclaimer: before osmoene says it (or thinks it, because I know someone will), I'm not dissing people who drive autos! So don't come crying to me

I'm confused too...im pretty sure my motor sounds the same at a constant steady 3k rpm on the highway as a m/t motor would at 3k as well.

I'm talking about accelerating, especially for short bursts of acceleration. An automatic sounds more constant unless you're flooring it (RPMs do not rise as rapidly).

I bought my car with 1200 miles on it. The previous owner kinda went crazy with the options list and stuck the TRD muffler on. I really don't like the way it sounds on the auto. A guy a work with has it on his manual and it does sound much better.

You haven't heard the Precisionmuffler.com Axle Back. I get nothing but praise on it's sound.
So YES, I drive an AT. And YES I have an aftermarket exhaust. As long as it's not fart can-annoying, its all good.

I have only heard sound clips of it. I'm not saying it's the amount or type of noise that is produced, that has more to do w/ the muffler and piping..... it's the way auto's are inheritly..... especially when someone drives w/ an on-off style, meaning, on the gas off the gas, on the gas off the gas constantly. And yes, there is also the fairly constant noise under normal acceleration. In most auto's I have driven under normal accelerating conditions, the engine speed tends to stay in 1 area..... so there is only 1 constant noise. BUT personal preference.
