View Full Version : First Lowered xB2 with PICS
YELOSUB 05-07-2007, 06:15 AM I believe that this is quite possibly the first and lowest xB2 (besides the 5 Axis)     ...................................For now................
Today, Chris (n2htwlz), Bob (RMS), and myself met over at Randy's (RANDODE) house to check out his wife's, Kristal's, new xB2...This vehicle is ONE day old and Randy already is wrenching on it...Randy in his majestic ways someone managed to use Gold-Line springs to lower this thing over 3"...In the front we dropped over 3 inches and the rear almost 3 inches...I will let Randode explain how it was done, but I do know that a mixture of tC and xB springs were used...
To all the haters and naysayers out there reference the new and improved xB just give it a chance...I was lucky enough to be with this car for over 3 hours and check it out completely...These things are NICE and the features that are included are amazing...By the way, the Blackberry Crushed Metallic color is incredible...It changes colors and most of the time it has a rootbeer brown tint to it...
Without further wait, here are the before and after pics:

n2htwlz 05-07-2007, 07:25 AM That was fun today. It was awesome to see this combo actualy work   .. Congrats Krystal  , the ride is lookin SWEET......
boomster 05-07-2007, 07:32 AM Dont forget all lighting done too!
scion_jon 05-07-2007, 07:58 AM hope you dont mind, but i choped some axis 7 mods onto the ride, and imo they look nice, along with a debadged grill :)
but i didnt want to offend randode, so if he request to see ill post it
toronado 05-07-2007, 08:04 AM Since you guys have obviously gotten up close and personal with the xB2, I was wondering if you noticed how much clearance there is between the front brakes and the stock rims. Is there more than an inch? Less than an inch? I'm trying to determine if there is any possibility of putting smaller rims on the car.
nyte_ryder 05-07-2007, 08:21 AM I like the way the xB2 looks with it being lowered!!!
roXor_boXor 05-07-2007, 01:07 PM Very nice and thanks for the pics YELOSUB.
In that last pic that thing looks so low I wonder if the Five Axis lip kit would fit? :nails:
So how was the ride quality after the mod? Any change?
Just1n 05-07-2007, 02:22 PM SNAP INTO A SLIM JIM!!!!
guitarguru44 05-07-2007, 02:40 PM pretty sweet.. i guess the new boxes are that bad after all..
RedneckwithanxB 05-07-2007, 04:09 PM awesomeness man....
brownKIDDnate 05-07-2007, 04:16 PM BAM, it looks mean as fuhh already
surfcitylocal 05-07-2007, 04:19 PM Thanks for the pics Ray. It looks great!
BunnyBox 05-07-2007, 04:39 PM so even with the disc brakes all around was it just as easy as the first gen or is it a little bit of a PITA like the TC
BozzMan 05-07-2007, 04:50 PM I doubt that the first three coils should be be completely compressed under a static load. The rear shocks are gonna have a short life.
Bdiddy 05-07-2007, 05:47 PM yea those new xb's are so sick. Looks good guys. If you have it for one day and it's already lowered, I can't wait to watch the progress you guys make on this thing.
YELOSUB 05-07-2007, 05:55 PM Did you really think it would go more than a couple days before Randy would lower it. Looks great!!!
106 lowered scions
1 lowered xB2
Close...
Its actually,
107 lowered Scions
1 lowered Scion xB2
Total = 108
bBlover 05-07-2007, 06:21 PM Ooh!! Randode impresses me everytime! Can't wait for the pics of the Navi. :P
hotweelz4me 05-07-2007, 06:33 PM xB2 looks 100% better lowered like that! I am currious about affected ride comfort with the adopted spring set up.
randode 05-07-2007, 07:57 PM I doubt that the first three coils should be be completely compressed under a static load. The rear shocks are gonna have a short life.
umm, thats how Goldline's are. if you were to lower 100+ Scions, you would know this. :lalala:
scionofPCFL 05-07-2007, 08:11 PM First off, very nice!
Second, How did it affect the ride?
randode 05-07-2007, 08:20 PM First off, very nice!
Second, How did it affect the ride?
feels exactly like it did on stock springs.
subcode 05-07-2007, 08:54 PM hey randy and kristal......congrats.....on the xb2....I'm not surprised....maybe like yeah this is become old hat for you guys to be the innovators and leaders of the Scion Community....I still have my xA....just got new shoes...But congrats again to the modding that will always be your art. thank you for doing my goldline install 3 years ago and getting my car ready for the tein coilover upgrade by putting my stockies back on....and dont forget the toxa stickers and classic role call I still have on my vehicle. you guys are fantastic. happy happy joy joy.!!
Boxer_Rebellion 05-08-2007, 12:15 AM So Randode, spill the beans alreay about the springs... Goldline TC fronts and xB1 rears perhaps? Whatever you used it looks the bizness, even with the stock wheels.
Boxer_Rebellion 05-08-2007, 12:18 AM Ahh, saw in another thread tC/xB hybrid is indeed what was done... maybe if there's enough grassroots support we can get Goldline to offer the Randode combo, haha...
TRDBox 05-08-2007, 12:29 AM looks good
im digging nitrogen caps
lol
randode 05-08-2007, 03:15 AM hey randy and kristal......congrats.....on the xb2....I'm not surprised....maybe like yeah this is become old hat for you guys to be the innovators and leaders of the Scion Community....I still have my xA....just got new shoes...But congrats again to the modding that will always be your art. thank you for doing my goldline install 3 years ago and getting my car ready for the tein coilover upgrade by putting my stockies back on....and dont forget the toxa stickers and classic role call I still have on my vehicle. you guys are fantastic. happy happy joy joy.!!
Thanks for the props dude. I apreciate it. You were always cool to us, even with all of the car club bullcrap that went down. If you need anything, let me know.
Peace.
Randode

kentae80 05-08-2007, 10:06 AM VERY NICE DROP FOR THE NEW XB2 JUST WAITING ON THE RIMS HUH
Boxer_Rebellion 05-08-2007, 01:51 PM Randode- speaking of rims, what offsets are you looking at with the drop? Would et32 on an 8" wide wheels be pushing it? It's kinda hard to tell from pix how much room there is to the inside of the fender lip.

whenever ur ready.
hotbox05 05-10-2007, 03:27 AM how does the car ride/handle with this spring combo ?
randode 05-10-2007, 05:01 AM how does the car ride/handle with this spring combo ?
feels exactly like it did stock.
but now the rear has negative camber for some reason.
goyogi 05-10-2007, 03:10 PM So what was the reason for using tc front springs? Do the xB 1st gen front springs work on the 2nd gen xB?
hotbox05 05-10-2007, 07:05 PM wow. negative camber. on the rear? too freakin weird.
more than a degree ?
randode 05-11-2007, 01:53 AM wow. negative camber. on the rear? too freakin weird.
more than a degree ?
with my 12" level centered on the hubcap, its 1/4" off from plumb.
YELOSUB 05-11-2007, 04:47 AM ^^^But it looks cool^^^
burstaneurysm 05-11-2007, 10:49 PM Oh damn... the lowering really looks amazing.
This thing is starting to grow on me...
ciscob 05-14-2007, 01:43 AM How long will it take for the aftermarket accessories to come out. Like lowering kits and lip/body kits. I just place my order for a white manual xB.
Ps: Any clue for lowering springs about 2inchs
randode 05-18-2007, 06:59 PM bump because Goldline's rule!
once it's lowered. it's like night and day! very nice! :)
Are you going to change the shocks to some TRD ones?
forpinks 05-28-2007, 03:48 AM Looks great!
NOW TIME TO TAKE OUT THOSE PILLAR TAPES!
randode 05-28-2007, 04:57 PM No im not going to get TRD shocks. It rides nine the way it is.
And the tape was peeled weeks ago, but fingers ares still sore.
Malibu_Rapper 05-30-2007, 11:47 PM Randode, I see a spring compressor in your pix. Do you need it for the front and back or just the front?
*EDIT* Nevermind, I completed the install of the TRD springs on the rear. It was a piece of cake. You can leave the tire on and I used the handle to my floor jack as leverage against the tire. There is a good hole you can use as an apex near the strut to put the end of the handle into.
Venom_Xb 05-31-2007, 05:33 PM I spoke to the folks at TEIN the other day and they are already hard at work on springs, basics, and Super streets for the XB2. They said they will all be available later this year.
BUT I WANT THEM NOW!!!! Anybody hear anything about bag kits for the new XB yet?

I have billet bag brackets for the rear of the new xB, the front is in the works.

How difficult are the fronts? I can't imagine them to be too hard. Dealer wants to charge about $260 for installation on a new Scion, which I think is a crate load of carp. The rears do look very simple though.
Thanks,
Bb
bluaeon 06-06-2007, 05:06 AM it looks like the new xb have the same suspension that the tc has right randy?
oh yeah, on your 2nd to the last pic
not sure if you tightened up that nut on the strut all the way, double check that one.
http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/4386/img1128kb1.jpg
bigballer: its not that hard to install. should be done within a few hours.
randode 06-07-2007, 05:27 AM the bolt is tight, my camera man got a little eager.
the front is more Camry than tC, the rear is similar to xB1.
