I have built a few of these, they are very good kits. Just reinforce the front bumper where it glues to the body.

Pretty good deal ^

"Toyota marketed this boxy van directly at the 20-30 male crowd here in Japan and they seem to have hit the mark (though this 30-40 male will confess confusion as to why this car is popular here"

Haha.

I love model building. I haven't had much time to build recently, though.

If you're into models, you should check out Scale Auto magazine (http://www.scaleautomag.com). It's a great publication (and I used to be an editor there). I still write their "In Tune" column, which deals with sport-compacts/imports/tuners (whatever you want to call 'em).

If you used to be an ed there, you probably came to "The Birmingham Classic" and I probably have met you.....I was the prez of the Magic City Car Modelers......

BTW, if you go to page 2, there is a kit of the new bB....

(edited to get page # right.)

I never made it the the Birmingham Classic. The editor, Jim Haught, did, though. Great models!

I usually covered the NNL Nationals in Toledo (I did for five years). I also went to the NNL East, GSL 2003, the Milwaukee NNL (every year), the Portland Classic, and I think that's it.

I ran across the new bB kit at Hobbytown the other day, but I didn't want to spend $40 on that kit (at least at the time). I will probably buy it eventually.

Thanks for the kind words on the quality....we sure try.

The new bB is here for $18.... def worth it.....even if it is a Fujimi....

I just ordered the new bB, too. What the heck -- it's only money, right? :)

I did see on p. 3 they have a Toyota Hiace Zelda II -- that's my modeling Holy Grail. I can't find it anywhere. I had it ordered through Hobby Link Japan, and they ended up not being able to get it. Someday I will have it!

The Zelda is a bit much for me, but I bet the speakers in the Super Woofer would kit bash real nice.....
