What are/is best fog lights for 06 xa in fog/pea soup?
Although I love the head lights, both low and high beam on my xa from other cars, I want to get something to help me see the road through fog. Rather the fog is in a low area or dip in the road, and pea soup type of fog.
My mercedes 240d had amber fog lights, but they were mounted next to the head lights and were only on with the head lights and useless. Maybe if I could cut the head lights and lower them to the road, they would of been useful?
I see the stock and or possible location for installation for the xas fog lights does make they low to the ground, but most auto stores and the toyota xa fog lights look like a somewhat wide angle light. I was thinking maybe a projector like light would work bettter to light up the road and not the fog, but no luck buying them at an auto store.
I did find two sets of the regular lamps put out a wide pencel beam of light that is yellow, but use a 55 watt bulb. Most of the lamps were different shape and sizes and looked like wide angle lights.
So, any suggestions for useful lights for fog on the xa?
Thanks....

I know Hella make some sick lights of all kind for the most application. So far I found the Hella 90mm fit perfectly into the sockets of the xA. They have both fog lights and projector light with beautiful finishes that you'll find in VW and MB and BMW.
I just need a free weekend to mount these lights with HID. will post pic for you to look at

I believe the 2006 xA fog light are also 3" as the precedent model. these should fit.
Hella also have a non Bi-xenon 90mm model for budgeted consumer. These use H9 bulbs which put out more lights than you can handle. links here:

Thanks, those are next on my list. I was reading about lamps and sounds like a pencil beam is what I am looking for, but they seem illegal for road use.
I found a pair of fog lamps at an auto store that projects a beam in a downwards shapped D shape. THey look like projector lights and use a 55 watt bulb. I also bought a relay kit to tap a parking light or the acc fuse so it can not be left on if I forget. GOing to cover them or remove the fuse to pass inspection.
This way I can have the fogs on with the parking lights and not the head lights.

Here in central california fog gets really really bad...as in, you can't see your feet bad... and I drove a Denali that had the fog-light only option and it was terrible. It needed the headlights on to be halfway decent.
Same with my dad's frontier; the fog lights by themselves can't cut through the fog enough to provide adequate visibility unless he has the headlights on too. =\
The denali had some stupid bright Hella lights on it too...the frontier has OEM nissan fog lights. take it fwiw =\
i have a question if anyone can answer, im planning to install fog lights into my 06' XA. My version has the size for the wide fog lights and not the circle one. i see many 06 models with the fit fog lights. is there a place i can get them?
