Alright gang I need some input on gauges for monitoring my supercharger. Right now I am only planning on doing a 2 pod a pillar mount and I can't decide which 2 gauges to get.

boost + wideband would be my 2 choices

Why wideband?

because it's quite possibly the most important gauge when you're going FI? tells you up to the second if you're running dangerously lean which skyrockets EGT's and blows ish up

Thanks for your input neothin -- I will consider getting a wideband a/f as the second gauge. I just need to see if Cyberdyne makes that would match up with the boost :P

no they don't

you'd hav eto go with a different gauge manufacturer to get a wideband. narrowband afr gauges dont do much ^^

Well it would tell me if it was extreme either way though. I really don't think the supercharger is going to give me much of any worries honestly. I think there are a few people that aren't running any gauges with theirs :P The only reason I like the Cyberdyne is for the boost... the supercharger boost level isn't very high but all of the gauges are -30/+30. I would much rather have a shorter range so I can clearly monitor where I am hitting. Make sense?

0-23 according to this-

wells... if you decide against eh wideband, oil pressure would be my next choice. volts won't help you monitor anything haha

Well the supercharger is running off the alt pulley etc my thought would be to make sure I am not about to blow that up as well :P The upside of the cyberdyne boost regardless of range is that it shows a solid number and not a needle float on an overlay. It is too bad they dont make a wideband a/f :(

if you're that concerned about a digital display... look at the AEM UEGO wideband and the AEM TruBoost. both have digital displays. yay!

Skulls, if you're still looking at the Greddy S/C, the pulley they replace on the alternator is oversized compared to stock. I believe it will actually cause the alternator to put out less total power. I was running voltage because I wanted to see what that was doing to my 1000W stereo setup. Haven't had it cut out yet but the votage does drop at idle. Fortunately, JL puts actual DC regulators in their amps so there is the same power output from 12.6V up.

I might be switching to the wideband A/F though, it will be a must if you are looking to retune without a dyno. BTW, you'll also need to rewire the Blitz S/C if you decide to go with it instead, the PE S/C claims to run with the stock ECU, not aure how they're pulling it off though. PE also uses a centrifigal instead of a Roots-type blower, might sound more like a turbo.

I have the Greddy s/c just haven't installed it yet :)

dont worry about the volts, go with boost and oil if those are your two choices. a wideband would be really good to go with also, its high on my list of priorities when i get back. as is a boost and a oil pressure. good luck with your install, ;)

I have decided to get the AEM digital boost and wideband gauges instead of the Cyberdynes.

why would voltometer even be considered? that is something you need for a car with a big sound system, or lots of lights or something.

you need boost, egt and wideband O2 for fi applications. you can also consider oil/water temp and pressure.

FORGET THE VOLTS!! Who cares.... Wideband, is the way to go!! This is what i have for my F/I setup, and i i think ALL of these are INCREDIBLY neccesary:

Boost
Pyrometer
Oil Press
Oil Temp
Water Temp
Wideband
