Finally got keyed :( With this my cars looks ghetto!

Will Meguiars Scratch-X get this out?

then 99% sure you're effed. i've never been able to save paint imperfections that you can feel like that, and i've tried several times :(

Naw its gonna take more than rubbing compound to do that job

very good post noodle... similar to the process i had to use in the situations i was talking about.

big difference is that i airbrushed the paint on as well as using a rotary buffing machine.

I got keyed as well, allllll down my driver's side. Good times.

naw it is the same...he basically is just painting a small part of the door..

You can try using white polish and scratch-x to sorta 'blend' it. Lots of coats of wax as well. It won't get rid of it, but it can help to mask it. Worst case is that the $10 touch-up paint has a 'pen mode' for this exact purpose.

Do you people have enemies or something? I don't understand why someone would look at a Tc of all cars and say "man I really want to run my key through that paint" It's infuriating...

I got keyed across my hood and it was all the way down to the metal I had to paint the whole hood and driver side fender...you can'nt just paint a small area of a door because it won't blend right but you can try the touch up paint but i would use 2000 grit, its alot easier to buff out....1400 is pretty rough

I went to see a movie, parked far out in the lot between two cars, perfectly aligned in the middle of the spot. Didn't drive like an idiot on the way in, didn't ____ anyone off, wasn't blasting my music, nothing.

Came out of the movie to a nice, new pinstripe. No one from my school hates me enough to do this, all I can do is accept that it was random.

fkn ghetto people. Repainting a quarter panel is like 400 dollars.

WHOA!!!, how in the heck did you do that? did you use any tool with the scratch X? I had some small scratches on my paint and I want to get them off. My scratches are much less in magnitude than yours, so if it works for you, it will work for me.

keying a car is just taking it to a whole new level! i think that needs to be repainted. :nope:

i also want to know how scratch-x made key scratch disappear! did u rub it like 100000000000000 times? lol any tools?

well if scratchx got it out, then the key mark wasn't that deep, which is good.

I have this puny scratch near my door handle and scratch-x can't seem to take it out. How'd you do it?

All I did was rub it about a thousand times one way and a thousand times the other. All I used was a diper cloth and scratch x. And yes it was deep because it kept catching my fingernail. It's not noticeable unless you're looking really hard or the sunlight hits it at a certain angle. But I'm just glad theres not a black line going across anymore.

Ahhh... Imma get me an orbital buffer and try and do this.

Do you guys think 3M rubbing compound would do the same thing?

I think it's best to apply a polishing compound after rubbing compound.

lol so u rubbed 2000 times

Steps are as following 1. Compound 2. Polishing Compound 3. Hand Polish 4. Hand Glaze Polish

Use 3M its the best if not use Meguiars
