Default Some monkey hit my new xB!

And that kinda ticks me off. I have had the car one week, and tonight when I walked out to it, I see that someone must have opened a door into the rear fender. Not much, but a knick.

I hope later today (THURSDAY), I can buff it out, but I felt it, and it feels like a small scratch is in the paint.

So does Toyota have touch up paint for '05 Cherry Black Pearl? Or does anyone know where I can find that color?

Man! I know it's not much to gripe about, but one week...

It just sort of sucks.

I feel you bro, I got my first nick in my windshield in my first week...Funny how the new car purchase goes isn't it...It's almost like you have to drive on eggshells not to let anything happen to it...Funny thing is, my friend's tC has quite a few nicks in his bumper as well...We were joking that Scions might carry a road hazard curse or something

2 small nicks in the ds passenger door from something kicking up off the road. Never fails ... always seems to happen in a new car within the first month or 2. My other car, the windshield was broken by a stone off a dumptruck within a month.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to find out...Yeah, it really sucks. You park far away from the other nits, you think, and then you come out, and some one, some how, has figured out a way to nick it. I looked at it today in the daylight, and tried to buff it out, but it's on the plastic part of the fender, you know, real low, and I think I wil have to get the touch up paint.

The thing about it, is that if you aren't looking for it, you really don't notice it. It's one of those things that the owner sees, you know what I'm saying?

I ot a few nicks from gravel trucks. Here in Illinois, it's truck heaven and there are many streets I avoid just because of the trucks. I have a friend that has a 240sx done up and he put on a skyline bumper in the spring and it's destroyed by the gravel coated highways of chicago. I can't wait to lower the box and destroy my front lip

How much does those pens run for? I got mine within the first week! I MF opens their door and chips the pain on my driver side door. Its just annoying to know that you try your hardest to avoid hazards but some how some was it gets to you!

I think my wife takes the prize.

When she got her Tacoma Double cab, when she left the lot and entered the freeway she caught a stone with her windshield LESS THAN ONE MILE from the dealership.

When she got home she said. "well it's a truck and that takes care of it being 'NEW'... "

I got one today, for abou $ 7 . And it did the trick. You really have to know where the scratch was, to see it.

So I am now a bit happier, but I still think it sucks to have this happen.

DanS, I feel for you...that would have driven me nuts!

Sorry about your box!

Oh, maybe it is just because I'm southern but I wouldn't use the word monkey to describe someone - it could be offensive...........at least it is here in the south.

Default Me Too!

Mine got hit by flying slump blocks when a young girl drove through a wall with her SR5 Forrunner. $4697 later it will be fixed. They say I will not get my car back until 10/7/04.

that truely sucks. almost a month after i got my car, somehow a car's lugnut came up and f'd up my windshield.

And you guys were able to score touch-up pens? I got stuck with the stupid lil brush that made a big mess on a scratch that i had above the front passenger door. instead of making it less noticeable, it's really hard to miss now.

I drove cross country and a picked up so many rock chips in the front bumper, that I am having it all repainted...at least you all had yours a few days before getting your first ding...I drove mine off the lot and when I got back to where I was staying I walkaround the car again, and damn it if there wasn't a small ding in the passenger rear door...thats right the dealer dinged my car.

of course the dealer blew me off...oh wait the dealer I had was a P.O.S. about everthing...and scion corporate pretty much said I was stuck with it.

OKKKay.

Well, I live in the SOUTH as well. South Florida. And I would have thought the word 'monkey' would have no meaning, to anyone in the 21st century...Unless you are old school KKK.

So, um. Sorry to all that might have taken offense to the term 'monkey'. I'll use ___ next time...
Wait. That might tick off the Democrats. Crap.

I'm sorry to hear that about your box....I know that I am 'luckier' then most. But it still sucked, to me. And I thank God it was not worse.

My new Beetle got smashed inthe rear, and had $12,000 damage done to it. And still not totaled! I had to wait over 6 weeks to get that back. And it was less then a year old. Not as bad as yours, true. But I can dig your pain.

i had someone hit my box in a parking lot one weekish after i got it. I had backed into the parking space and i didnt notice it when i first walked out to it since there wasnt alot of light out there but when i got it home i saw a bunch of what looked like scratches, and im talking big scratches but lucky for me (and whoever hit me) it was only paint from there car and it came right off.
