Default No Floor Mats?

I was wondering why the new xBs don't even come with a set of floor mats. I thought all new cars came with floor mats. I just spent 14K on a car and they can't throw in a set of $40 floor mats....geez

The set of paper mats last about 2 days before they were ripped!

I did find a set on ebay for $50 shipped. They arrived 2 days after purchase.

Looks good. I would think they could bite the bullet & just give us floor mats for free.

Look I'm not saying its reasonable but no dealership has ever given free mats... if they told you they did they lied it was included in your deal so I don't know why its such a suprise that a 14k car is gonna have mats if a 100k doesnt.

Tell you the truth, this is my 1st NEW car ever purchased I always THOUGHT they threw in the mats in the deal, my bad I guess. :?

Anways...if anyone is looking for a set of scion mats as a reasonable price, hes still got 3 sets up on ebay. $45 + $8 shipped. Seemed reasonable to me.

whoa, the 2005 floormats are different than the 2004's. the 2004's are like a fake burber that wears out after like 500 miles.

I prefer that we have to pay for the floormats and get A/C, Power windows/locks, TC/VSC/ABS and premium sound for FREE...

But maybe that's just me...

nothing is ever free...its always included in the price but I agree that I would rather have that stuff stock...me personally I went to autozone and got $10 rubber mats that I can just rinse to clean. real easy stuff and their black and look real nice with the interior...very stockish looking.

Couldn't agree more! This is my 5th new car in 12 years and none of them came with floor mats. This is the first time I bothered to purchase factory floormats too, I always went to Pep Boys and grabbed the $25 ones.

Damn, I think it's time to pick up some stock floor mats. The 05 ones look awesome.

I always thought floor mats were a bull____ option that dealers added on to jack up their prices when a car was in high demand. When my mother went to buy a Honda Odyssey a couple years ago they tried to sell her $200 floor mats and almost got away with it because the car was in such high demand.

I like that scion doesn't include any options unless you want them. It seems wholly logical that you would pay for the options you want and not pay for the ones you don't.

As stated before, they're the '05 floormats. I got my floormats and cargo cover for $50 at the parts dept. with a $20 coupon they gave me when I picked up my xB.

Think about it. The dealers claim that they are making about $500 on each xB. If they can sell you a set of $50 floor mats for $100 they have increased their profits by 10% with no change in their floor traffic.

Keep those stock mats. Some day they will be a "rare OEM accessory" that folks will pay $$$ for!
