I would have loved to, but i've been pretty busy and willow springs is definitely not close...maybe next time u do california speedway again or a closer racetrack. But glad to see u got some more stuff done to the car since the last time i saw it...cant wait to see it in action again. BTW, are u still running stock exhaust without the muffler, or do you have an exhaust now?

Totally custom exhaust. Burns thinwall stainless 2.5-inch diameter stuff put together by Technosquare. We have a 45 degree dump in the center of the car, just behind the driver. It sounds kick ___...and performs fantastically, all while being SUPER lightweight.

Chris,

You're down the street. I live and work in the southbay. =) If you want to see the car sometime, just shoot me a PM.

NICE!!! I am going there next month on Friday, June 22. From the pictures, looks like your running on the Streets of Willow track... How did you do? What time did you run? What kind of suspension work do you have done?

Better check those eyes, sir. It's the regular track. You can't race on Streets...

Suspension is custom Progress stuff. And the car ran a 1:38 at Willow, FYI.

My mistake... I heard the regular track is quite difficult, props to you for running on it. There is footage of an Evo running on that track in which he flips his car... made me never want to run on the regular track

I am a beginner, so I am going with my friend and his mr2 club... we're suppose to be going on the streets of willow track... what type of driving can be done on the streets of willow course? (doesn't really matter, I'll be going there just to learn to drive better)

The Streets course IS a good way to cut your teeth. I'd highly encourage running on it. It's a whole lot slower, and it's rare that anything bad happens there (though it's possible).

Most of the bad stuff that happens on "the big track" occurs because of mistakes made once drivers get into trouble. Once the initial error is made, it's the second and sometimes third mistake that causes a bad situation. If you lose control of your car, go straight off, and lock up the brakes. Don't try to be a hero or you'll find yourself likely snapping back across the track and going for a ride you'd rather not have.

Even an experiened driver may choose to go straight off under his own terms rather than risk a costly accident from a low percentage save attempt.

Haha. Yeah you've been absent! You can read the release in the thread in this forum or in Motorsports for Willow, but we finished 1st and 3rd on Sat and Sun. It was a huge fight, and you might like to read about it if you get a chance.

Mods...well, we've got all the bolt-ons on, both OTS and custom. We're in the process of doing the AEM right now. The LSD is in the car along with the Centerforce clutch and flywheel. Full custom bushing set and motor mounts from ES, though we haven't raced on them yet. (They'll be released to the public SOON!)
