Default CHECK EM OUT- Candy Red/Nightshaded tails - PICS

first off .. excuse the tail pics .. my friend A) sucks at taking pics B) camera was on the fritz

anyways you get the idea ....

to add - the lights have a glossy shiny finish .. though it is not apparent too clearly in these pics .. i will wokr on getting better ones .. just wanted to share my taillight setup

the top half was done using Testors Transparent Candy APPLE RED ... and the bottom half was done using nightshades ... and then the whole thing was clear coated

what do you guys think ?

Good job though.

Niteshades huh? I wonder what the shelf life on that stuff is? I've got a can from back around '95 or so still sitting in my garage.

nightshades is smoked paint in a can .... transparent smoke paint ... they sell it at speed shops

and as for the testors lasting 3 years.. thats fine ... it only took 1 day to do both taillights... so i dont mind redoing em again assuming i even still have the car

but its a nice mod and its cheap at only 11 for a can of nightshades.. that is easily enough to do 2-3 sets of tails and 4 for the testors paint

Looks nice. I think it is worth it even if it only last a year or two.

Although it's hard to see the quality of paint from the pix above...

here's few pix of the "Real" Nish Candied tail lights.

Gary Nish paints these with high quality automotive paint with clear coat as well... these are made to last almost the life the car. It's high quality work... and looks factory.

wow those look great ... cant say that mine are THAT nice .. but they are damned near close to it .. then again i paid 13 .. lol ..

how much does NISH charge for the paint service

one great thing about doing your tails like his or mine . it REALLY sets you apart from the rest of the crew... i mean how many boxes do you see with the TYCs or stockers... then add up how many you see with painted tails it makes a world of difference in seperating you from the crowd

i bought the night shades at the only place in sac that has them (also the most expensive speed shop in sac) and it was only 7.99 . i tinted my whole tails and then used red bulb covers for the turn signals so i am very happy tinted and red flashers

I really wanna get mine candy coated. I just dont want to use my stock ones.

Any way I can buy another set of tails with them coated already? From who, where, and price? Like Nish. Forgot where the post was but I called a certain # in Cali that does smoked tails. Its either you ship a new set or your stock ones and they'll do it for $150. I was like...uhh...

Typical price or what? I'm interested. If anything, that will be next for me. Thanks.

We did it on my buddies civic, clear coat and all, and it faded and lost its sheen in 4 months.

Does anyone know the steps that were taking to paint BlueBox's tails? My bro just started painting and is willing to paint my tails. I need to know the steps for painting the tails. Also, what kind of paint are you guys using?

Thanks!!
