Default return of the elec. supercharger (now in turbo form, lol)

If it wasn't bad enough that someone actually had the gumption to sell people an electric blower motor for their intake and call it a supercharger, now they're making it in "turbo" form and charging $350 for it! LMAO! I saw this and had to share.

I wonder how much K&N would appreciate this POS using their name...

The theory is still the same though, even if it's crappy electric, it's still going to add some power by forcing air faster than normal. But good god... how can people be this stupid?

i like this part--
A stock turbo from an Audi 1.8T produces 400CFM. Adding the electric supercharger will produce more then half of the power than a stock Audi 1.8T turbo would. There is need to do any modifications to your engine at all. 250CFM of forced air can also be compared to a 15-25 shot of Nitrous.

I remember when people were selling marine exhaust fans as "superchargers" on ebay. At WOT the car was actually slower because the fan actually restricted air flow. LOL

These came into existance slightly after the birth of Black Jesus, and slightly before dirt.

Well obviously nobody here has bought one, but before we all bash the idea, could anybody provide a dyno?

I could fab one for less then 350$, he's just in it for the money

But the idea has to provide something?

Or is this idea just going to be thrown in with the bad idea garbage bin and forgotten? Like the TURBONATOR, the little metal fin insert for your intake or the Fuel Alignment Magnets that align the magnatism of the fuel so it flows better and burns cleaner....

I'm not wasting the money but proof of concept on a dyno would be nice to see...

Looks like it produces a whopping 250 cfm of forced air. Just for reference 1000cfm = 1psi of boost.

Not worth wasting time on it.

ok, this is what I was looking for. Is it safe to assume that an electric version is just incapable of compressing enough air off a 12 volt system?

Electric air blowers are ineffective because increasing the velocity (cfm) of air does nothing without increasing the volume of air.

ok, fluids is one area of physics I'm very weak on, so please excuse what will probably be a fairly mundane question for you: how does an electric blower (or fan if you rather) not increase the volume of air while a real s/c does? I've just never understood how you can't take a standard s/c, and instead of spinning the rotors with the engine's rotational energy, you use electricity to do the same job. The only explaination that makes sense in my head is that 12 volts won't spin the fan rotors fast enough to do the work needed to make a noticiable gain.

It also doesn't make sense from a energy standpoint, because you'd just draw more power from the battery, forcing the alternator to work harder, thereby pulling hp off the motor, thereby negating any gains you might have gotten. But this is just for educational purposes anywho.
