Replaced the Tein H-Techs with Tein Super Sport coilovers w/ Pillowball mounts.
Got em in on the 18th but I was outta town til the 26th, finally got em on at YESCA's place on the 27th.

Who ever said these road harsh was outta their f'ing mind. They ride like a dream. With the damper on the hardest setting its like a go-kart, pretty stiff, as it you would expect but in the softer settings they're no more 'harsh' than my H-Techs with good struts.
Got em set some where in the middle atm with a 1.5 finger gap all around.

Thanks guys!

so the ride with them is good comfort wise?
for sure. The ride is perfect. I was on H-Techs on stock struts and the SSP in the softer settings don't feel any different than adding new struts/shocks to the H-Techs. In the stiffer settings its rough, but its nothing more than what you'd expect.

At first I wasn't sure if it was worth the money spent (and I got em for under 1k) ... after two days, I'd never go back.
I have also determined after these two days that the EDFC would get daily use and also be money well spent (the rears are a _____ to adjust and I'm not interested in cutting the carpet).

I have the SS-Ps and EDFC and love it, esp the 3 programmable preset buttons. I noticed that the newer EDFC is black and has even more control over the damping rate (32 vice 16 on the old).

Also, I didn't realize this at first, but with the EDFC (at least the older version), the lower the number, the stiffer the ride.

Something to note for anyone that has or is going to get anti-sway bars, the Hotchkis front anti-sway bar will rub if you have TEIN coilovers.

Enjoy your new setup.

mine road like a dream when i first had them on but after almost a year of driving on terrible roads (downtown Los Angeles industrial area) the dampers started to get a bit weak and the ride was harsh. livable but still harsh by any standards. i always had them on full stiff so i think if i softened them up a bit, it would be a very good DD set up too.

Any of you guys ever have any trouble with creaking from the rear coilovers?

BALLIN' looks great man. I want a set so bad. How was the h-techs with the stock struts...how long did you have those on before the switch?

BLUEMEANIE
07-10-2007, 03:18 PM
Not long ... maybe 5-6 months. The H-Techs are great springs even on stock struts they were great.

The SSP are great too. Unless I hit a real $#!+ piece of pavement thats buckled or badly patched for any distance they ride smooth as butta. In fact the roads that bounce me around badly do the same in any car with sporty suspension, lowered or not.

very nice. Would you be willing to take some pics from like ground level ..front and rear? I just ordered my s-techs ..they will be sitting on stock struts until next summer. I don't do road racing..just DD so I should be fine.

i believe if you got them for under 1k, they are totally worth it. i have seen them here on SL for 1k+. so it looks like you got a great deal. the drop looks really nice BTW...

Hey bluemeanie, did you install EDFC? justwanna know where did you run the wires of the fron motors and where did you tap the contoller for power, anybody?

BLUEMEANIE
07-11-2007, 03:56 PM
Not yet. I just got an alignment (-0.5f/-1.0r) and I'm picking up some spacers (15mm rear and a custom 10mm for the front) so I'm waiting for the funds to replenish atm.

Would you be willing to take some pics from like ground level ..front and rear?

For sure.

What size of wheels do you have i was thinkin of spacers too but I have 18x8 and running the height from the factory, drop is pretty nice but i have some rubbing on plastic liner in front..

BLUEMEANIE
07-11-2007, 05:51 PM
Stock wheels atm 17x7. I have no rubbing even with four people in the car.

why did u go with -.5 front -1 rear? you are talking about camber right?

BLUEMEANIE
07-12-2007, 03:13 AM
A little neg camber is good. I autox, road race and commute in this car so I wanted something that wouldn't eat my tires up super quick but still aid in handling.
