I've been back to the dealership a couple times over this. They keep telling me that the TRD brake pads are a harder pad, therefore will be 'noisier than stock.'

However, since I had the pads installed, they've been making noise like there's no pad left and they're damaging the rotor.

I had the rotors inspected when I had the pads installed, and was told they don't need to be resurfaced.

Searching through old threads on this, I found a link to an article about 'bedding in' pads so they don't unevenly wear and squeak--but the link no longer works!

Anyone had a similar problem, suggestions, or recommend a different brake pads?

TRD pads and Axxis Ultimates are very, very, very similar. Those pads have a tendency to make some noise with light pedal pressure which may never go away, even when well bed-in.

Even stock pads can become noisey.. that is just the nature of the beast. There are methods of getting rid of it that work sometimes better than others, but sometimes you just have to live with it, especially with harsher pads. Bedding them in will give you better performance out of the pads anyway, so it is a good thing to do.

But, just to be sure, did you put all shims back in place properly when the new pads went in? Brake squeal comes from all over the brake parts. The interface of the rotor and pad start it, but the high frequency vibrations will pop up anywhere there is play in the system. So if there was a factory shim that was left out, that can allow those vibrations to set up and create noise. You would be suprised how many spots on the caliper and brake assembly can be the cause of the noise. So be sure to double check install before going too far.
