Default question for ipod stereo upgrade owners (07 owners)

hi, could someone tell me how the sound quality compares from an ipod connected through a standard mini-stereo plug to the AUX jack in the center console, versus an ipod connected through the special cable designed for the upgraded head unit? also, does the ipod auto shut off when the car does? thanks.

yes it shuts off a lil bit after ur car is off .. i leave mines in my car .. wen u plug it through the upgrade hu u can use ur steering wheel controls and sort through the playlist n artist n stuff thru the hu .. if u use the ghetto way .. u have 2 use the button on the ipod which i would find a pain in the butt .. wen i first bought the car i changed the hu 2 an eclipse one .. but i bought an ipod so i put my stock ipod hu back and im loving it

The dedicated iPod hookup sounds fantastic. I haven't tried the other line-in because I get all the iPod controls on my head unit/steering wheel. It's well worth the money.

I have all my music encoded in AAC format at 160 kbps for slightly better sound quality then what the default encoding quality with iTunes is. I simply leave my iPod in my car all the time and it shuts off automatically depending on how long you have your iPod set to sleep after no activity.

My only complaint? No pause button (unless I simply missed it). If you hit mute, the music keeps right on going... kind of annoying, but not that big of a deal.
