Hey all, I am a new member to ScionLife
I just wanted to proudly say that last night my salesman called and said that he had allocated the xA RS 1.0 for me and that it will be arriving in the first week of October. I think the pricing dillemma delayed the release, but I know that it is coming in about 2 weeks. I am quite excited, and the price of $2200 is amazing because the rims are made by Enkei, which means that they are of fine quality and they look SICK. I'll post when I get the car and I'll post some pictures. It does not need many mods, I think I'll just put some TRD springs on it and tint the windows and get some subs. That's about it. Anyone else getting the xA RS 1.0??

me me me! I've been waiting about 6 weeks. Should be here soon. I am not that excited about the new wheels though. I've heard they aren't the greatest for driving in snow, but oh well, I'll manage. I live in Wisconsin, so it really is a big issue for me.

I am waiting for my xA RS 1.0 also since August. Put 500 deposit for it. Salesman called me last wkend telling me the car is coming in this week after Tuesday. I can't wait to go check it out.

Yeah the RS1.0 looks good from the pictures I have seen. Still be nice if we could get the color normaly. On a side note, I see its going to be a PITA to tell who the ppl are posting with out looking at the sn. Most of the time I just look at the avatar & I know who it is. To many ppl using the same ones now.

Wilde Toyota/Scion in Milwaukee, WI has a xA rs1.0 on the lot for sale when i was there friday. no one had bought it yet i believe

My xA RS 1.0 is supposed to be here today sometime. I've been waiting since August 3rd on it. I don't know what number it is yet, and I can't wait to find out. This is killing me! Someone knock me out or something until it gets here!! :)

Just had lunch with 4 other coworkers. They were average size... not fat nor skinny.. 5'6" to 5'10". The 3 of them who sat in the bad said it was quite comfortable. hahha.. They were amazed that I got the car for under 17k.

What they didn't know is that I was kinda amazed that the car can still move swiftly with 5 adults in the car. One of them actually asked if this is a 4-cylinder or 6.... lolz~!!! I guess the Redness plus the sport look and the not-too-shabby acceleration with 5 adults got him the wrong impression... hehehe

Now I better remember to get some wheel locks for my baby, just like my coworker suggested.

This fatbastard loves his new baby. Now his doggie better keep her innocent little paws away from the car.. or some one is going get skin~!!!! lolzzz..

Update on my car...
My husband who was VERY against me getting this car, seems to like it after all. He took if for a spin and said the ride isn't as jarring as he thought it was going to be. He also said it has more zip and is more spacious on the inside then he thought it was going to be. He calls it "the tomato" and I kind of like that description, so I've been calling it that too. I've had it a day and a half and it still only had 35 miles on it. It came with 10, back and forth to work today was 22. I just haven't had time to drive it! I am just loving it though. I got so many smiles from people on my way to work this morning, especially from the college kids on campus (UW in Madison, WI). My husband says they probably weren't smiling at the car, but laughing at the old lady (34) driving the little cute car. Oh well. :D Hope every one gets there car soon and can start enjoying it as much as I am!!

I'm picking up my xA RS 1.0 this week and was curious as to what is involved in lowering the car and about how much it will cost to do so. I'm a college student in LA, so dropping the car isn't as big a deal as it is in NY.

I picked mine up about two weeks ago and really love the car. There are a few things I would like changed, but overall it's a great car.

Also the storage compartment next to the spare tire makes for an excellent sub location for an 8" sub.

xA RS chick - congrats first of all, and about the springs - it depends on how low you want to go and what quality. The TRD springs the dealers offer aren't bad, and they are about $190 ish. You can get cheaper or more expensive too, just depends on what you are looking for. I personally think a 1.0 inch to a 1.5 inch drop is good, anything over is too low, but thats just me. I drove my car pretty much all day. Stopping only for a drink, or to comb and auto parts store. I happened through the local cruise line, and watched out of the corner of my eye as a group of guys with american muscle turned to watch my car go by. No really awe, but kind of "What the heck is that thing..."

I was pleased.

by the way, that's the name I believe I'm sticking with for my car. It's the name given to a DRD from Farscape. xA bears a slight resemblance. Cheers to those of you who know Farscape, and even more so if you know 1812.

I'm so glad you finally got it! The name "1812" is much cooler than the "tomato", but they both work. Mine still only has bout 50 miles on it! I just haven't had time to
drive it, but I still am loving it every time I sit down in the cockpit. :wink:

xA's look raised for some reason but if you have ever seen one in person dropped it looks so dam sexy.. I drove a rs 1.0 at our dealer when it came in #55 and it was good times (considering I gave her a good run) I also love the grille, front end on the new RS series.. great choice and its very red....

Here are pics of the sub install. I still have my spare tire and with the floor mats installed it's completly hidden. Overall sound is excellent and the 8" sub sounds and feels more like a 10" with the small interior of the xA.

the sub location is hot... where is that, under the mat in the back? give me details, my RS comes in any day now, and I want to put a sub like that :D

If you lift the rear floor to access the spare tire you will see a storage compartment next to the spare tire on the right hand side. There are also some tools on the plastic flooring that will need to be moved.

We had all of the tools that were in the storage compartment moved to the left side as well as the tools on the plastic flooring.

Then with storeage compartment removed (it's a plastic bucket), fiberglass was molded to the conture of the space. It actually wraps around the spare tire a little to help hold it in place.

The plastic flooring above the speaker will have to be cut or else it will rattle like crazy. You would just need to cover it with a grill.

When it's done, you just have to lay your floor mats over the rear compartment and everything is completly hidden and you have full usage of your hatchback. Mount the amp under the seat and you are good to go.

sounds cool... it looks nice... how big is the sub? and did you do this all yourself?

The sub is 8" and in a sealed enclosure. It's definately not for those that need to blow their doors off. For an 8" thought it's quite nice and has enough volume to vibrate the seats and your hair a little. It sounds better than the Kicker 10" in my wifes Saturn (though the 10" is a bit better around 25 hz.)

It matches very well with the stock system, and in some instances can overpower it by a large margin. I have a remote bass control that makes it easy to control the balance of bass with the stock stereo so it makes for a really nice SQ system.

I had an installer do the work. I can do a lot in a car, but now days would rather leave it to somebody else so if they screw up they get to cover the cost of repair.

no options, just mats. i ordered a viper responder alarm and remote start system a few weeks ago, and i will get that installed in it this weekend. but first i am going to the dealer to pick it up!! :-)

All I can say is... wow. The car is pure bliss. I had a smile on my face as soon as I saw it. As I got there almost every salesman/saleswoman of the dealer was out there looking at it and they agreed that it was just hot. I am really excited and thankful. Future mod - it needs a drop! But I am finally a Scion owner, and I am very excited to be amongst all of you owners as well. :D

haha yeah thats the same thing i thought... really cool number.... but its a lot higher than i thought! i was expecting a low 300 or something, haha, oh well. i only had time to drive it home from the dealer today, so tomorrow ill have a full day with it. ive already turned a few heads, and some guy already thought that it was fast enough for him to pull up to me and attempt to race. I know that I won't beat anyone with 108hp, so I didn't bother haha, but the fast looks of this car is just wow.

I just picked up number 78 a couple of days ago. I walked into the Scion dealer about a week previously and was looking at a standard xA. Didn't even consider the RS because I wanted to keep my price as low as possible. Alas, it was too late for me tho, the RS firmly implanted itself in my head and kicked my OCD into overdrive. Lovin this vehicle. I drove it off the lot with 20 miles on it and just broke 100 today! This little red beast makes my commute into dowtown Denver SOOO much more enjoyable. Wait... did I just say my commute into downtown was enjoyable?

And the fact that I got pulled over today for not having a front plate.... and the cop letting me go by saying "wow nice wheels, I've never heard of 'sky-on' " was pretty cool :lol:

He even let me get away with not having a front plate on, which I thought was cool.

Everyone is complaining about how it needs a drop badly, it actually doesn't need one that badly. It has a unique stance, and I don't think I'm going to touch it. That's right guys, I'm NOT dropping mine :shock: haha, but I love it.

I just bought my xa rs 1.0 last night , love this car. nice ride and really stand out in the crowd. a few people stoped me to ask me what is it . anyway first post will post some pics really soon, planning to tint the window. love the way it looks. can u tell me can i add keyless entry added from toyata or am i screwd. thats the only thing that really bugging me think it should be standard with the 2200 premium. :twisted:

We had keyless added to ours thru Toyota. It was installed at port and not at the dealer. We also added cruise.

:twisted: Called dealership today asked if they can install keyless entry and they said they could for$ 289.00 so maybe soon I'll get it . Its really getting on my nerves using the key everytime I work from my car constantly in and out so it will be a nice to have. have driven two and half days worth of work and still have 1/4 tank left. with gas as expensive as it is diffently made right decesion buying this car.... :twisted:

debating on buying one for myself, but would definitely do the drop & body kit...

Ha, funny you say that. I was in the SAME situation. Looking for the cheapest xA and didn't even consider the RS 1.0 until I saw it. That was it for me. Love at first sight. It was now just a matter of finding one with the least amount of options on it as the dealers here really tacked on stuff that I didn't want, plus the prices for tacked on stuff was exagerated. A few phone calls to about 4 other Scion dealers within 20min drive, and found exactly what I was looking for. Bought mine with 5 miles. Never been test driven before me. Wish I took the pictures immediately, and not after they drove it to the back to cleaned it up and then drove it across the lot to customer pickup, because it clicked over to 6 miles. :twisted: Well it took me awhile to decide on which scion to buy, I pretty much had my choice of all three, but once i saw the xa r s 1.0 I was hooked also had the best gas mileage of all three which is a big deal when u work out of your car. Hello! I just registered today. I bought RS 1.0 #496 on Saturday at my local dealer. I wasn't looking to get the RS, but they only had 2 xAs on the lot. Besides the RS, they had a silver 2004 with side air bags. I guess they aren't selling well in northern Virginia. The RS had last month's inspection sticker and the 2004 had an April sticker. It's been on the lot for quite a while! They also had one xB and three tCs on the lot.

I've already put 350 miles on it and I think it's great! 35 MPG on the first tank,

i know the feeling, i picked mine up about 10 days ago... its such a great car. honestly, i mean it turns heads and all, but it just makes you :D every time you look at it yourself. you know you've got the car for you when it makes you smile every time.

the main thing is that it makes you feel tingly inside sometimes. the best for me was when a xB RS pulled up next to me, the guy rolled his window down and told me that him and I have the nicest looking cars in town, and nobody knows about the company.

i hope you enjoy the car as much as i am enjoying mine. this goes for all scion owners, not just RS owners. It feels great to have a Scion. :D

I have had all of these conversations as well. In the 2 1/2 weeks that I've been driving my car, I've been asked a whole multitude of question...for example:

What the heck is that?
Is that a Cooper?

"It's a Scion xA." I tell them

Who makes that?
I thought Scions were boxy.

"Toyota. It's a company, spawned by Toyota, hence the name. And the xB is the boxy one, not the xA."

So that's pretty much the way it always goes down. I love my new car. I think i'll even get the right MPG once I learn to drive it with a little restraint. :) I've been getting 30.2 to 30.5 MPG, but last tank I drove about half of it more conservatively and got 32.4MPG. I'm going to take it easy on the whole tank this time. Hoping to hit 35. :)

Yesterday for the first time I had major gawkers. A guy standing on the corner hit his buddy and told him to look. Was pointing at my car and both of them were looking with wide eyes with WTF looks on thier faces. Was pretty cool feeling.

Whats the proper ediquite for a gawker? What do you do? Wave? Pretend you don't see them? Head nod? Other?

Just wanted to say hello. I am new the the forum and new to the Scion family. I have been wanting an XA since i saw the first commercial. Once I had the money to actually get one, I walk up to the dealership to see the new RS's lined up. I test drove it, fell lin love, and can't wait until my customizing is done this friday. I can't wait to get the looks!!

Nothing too out of hand just yet. I just got the extra mods from the dealership, LED Lights, lighted Cupholders, keyless entry... But in the up coming month who knows, my eyes are always open for new ideas. I have to make sure this baby looks good. As of right now, i may be the only xA RS1 driving on the MD, VA, DE Shore.

A few years ago I sold my rs 1.0 for vw passat. Well today I bought new rs 1.0 and selling my passat. My scion rs 1.0 was the best car I have ever owned. There is a old man around block from me with rs 1.0 I approached him and asked if he would sell me his car 34000 miles on it. He said yes So I am the proud owner of red devil 2 just happened hhis wife wanted to buy something bigger....can't believe I remembered my password for this site been years. And happy to be back. :)~
