How do you remove auto shifter handle?

How do you remove auto shifter handle?

I want to finish painting the silver pieces in my car to metallic blue this weekend, but can't figure out how to take off the shifter handle. I have an automatic.

unscrew the base half, then unscrew the top half and u should be good.
