The D3 is a nice, pretty unit. The display is higher res than previous AVICs and the interface is very smooth. The iPod interface on this unit is killer! The on-screen display looks just like the iPod itself!
The iPod interface requires the use of Pioneer's CDI-200 interface cable which plugs into the back of the AVIC. Unfortunately, the harness is different than that of the docking cable from the new xB (and any other vehicle, I might add). Without hardwiring, the new CDI-200 and existing docking cable will not mate.

Kenwood and Alpine have better Ipod interfaces IMO. You are better off with a DNX-7100 from kenwood as there is no disc for the navi so you don't have to swap discs when you watch movies and do NAV. In addition, the Ipod controls have album art. If you want more info on the D3, go to avic411.com. I'd spend the extra money to get the Kenwood though.

I helped a buddy install that in his old xB yesterday. Is a nice unit.
