Can someone post up some general info on this? I have no idea how it works. Do we get sent a notice at home? Every how often is one required? What is the process they go through? etc etc
Thanks,
C.

i'm pretty sure i already did when i went through emissions.
you'll get a notice sent to wherever the car is registered to. md state inspections are every 2 years. for new cars made like after 1997, all they do is inspect the gas cap to make sure it doesn't leak which they didn't do to mine since it is on a leash (adaptor not availiable-passed) and start the car, look for a cel, and use an obd II scan.
i went to the veip on 124 in airpark. paid $15 dollars, the guy asked me to wait. he got in, pulled my car forward, and said it passed, and gave me my certificate declaring such.
and here is my original post from a few months back
ok lol well wasn't paying attention to the "veip" word
;) thnx though

are you asking about general inspection or emissions?
emissions is every 2years, you'll get a VEIP notice
otherwise you only have a general inspection needed when buying (used) or selling a car

emissions only for us, you get it every 2 years as stated b4. Your car will pass emissions other then that ur fine.

you'll only have to worry about emissions, for now
if you sell your car the buyer MAY ask you to have it state inspected, but you dont have to

what other questions would u have? you have no engine mods, so u have no worries.
you will get the letter around 2 years after the purchase of the new vehicle, you go to the station, and thats it

thats what im saying though... there should be no questions on your end basically. your engine is stock, no cel, so you go to the station thats closes to you, they check emissions, and ur on ur way

Not necessarily...if you bought the car brand new, the VEIP notice will come 2 years after the year of the model of the car. IE. I bought my car in 04 and its an 05 model, I didnt have to do VEIP until 07, not 06. If you bought the car in 05 and its an 05 model you will get the VEIP notice in 07...
