Default The ugly shifter!!!

I'd like to know what we can do to our stock shift **** instead of hiding it in the center console when you installed a new one?

Are there ways to make it look more appealing without using a shifter cover?

Thanks! I just wanted to play with it...

It's the ugly 5-spd shift ****!

I want to make it look a tad better because I need it when it gets hotter, I can't use the weighted shifter because it can cause burns.

I have 3 shifters the OEM, Megan racing (came with the STS) and a TWM big ball shifter (-1LB). now its summer, I can't use metal shifters...

What can I do to make the OEM look better?

And can I see a pic of a leather ball TRD shift **** on a STS?

the below reply is meant in jest and good-nature. pls no flaming.

i think its time i said what everyone one else is thinking. forpinks, please man-up. there is nothing cooler or manly-er than the scorched shift pattern of your 5sp scion tC permanently burned into your palm. some might call this masochistic, i call it dedication. you need only a mirror (say the men's room of any gunstore or pepboys) to read the emblazened badge of manliness that inhabits your right palm. moreover, if any young jerk should jack your ride this summer, when you catch him, you will easily identify him by your matching burns and be able to beat the living f**k out of him with the old OEM shifter (mine is threaded onto the end of a 3 foot metal bar). just think of the grins and compliments you will get from the severed-hand trophy you will be able to bronze and display on your mantle with your other "man-prizes".

just my two cents.

seriously, i really like my leather wrapped trd. its is pretty comfy and has the cool stickers on both sides.

+1 I used a chili pepper patterned fajita pan handle cover from Fridays on my old car. Surprisingly, it fit perfect. After awhile, it just stayed on there.

You could also use a sunshade and make sure you park in a shady area where too much sun won't hit your un-blocked windows. Or if your like me and have to park your car in an un-shaded lot for 12+ hours a day, use the shade, cover the **** and steering wheel with a towel or the like. And if it's still hot, as i mentioned before, cover it while your driving, too.

Put the cover over your sunroof and that should be enough I dont know why it would get hot enough to burn your hands I have never had that problem in any car.
