Default Hurray for idiots

Well i haven't even made my 1st payment and i come out of the grocery store and a shopping cart has scratched my door.......yeay fun. I parked the furthest away from all cars yet to have a cart get "blown" into it...so I'm a little irritated about this.

Later on in the night at a friends house this chick backs up and hits the same spot, and her wing knocks of my mirror ...(have i mentioned i haven't even made a payment yet)

I'm grateful to know one of the owners to what i believe to be on of the best body shops in my area. They do fantastic work, and have made my cousins wrecked CRV look brand new after being practically totaled. But my question to you is should i get the body work done at the dealership? If the car isn't perfect when it gets out ill freak.

Unless its free... dealerships are not our friends.

Insurance companies are however... our friends. Well... at least in my opinion.

Uh ya, that chick's insurance should be paying for that work. And depending on your insurance company, you should be able to choose where you want to have the work done, so you should be able to do it at the shop you like.

Dude ! No WAYYYY . A girlfriend of mine just got rearended in her car . ( Not a Scion ) . Adjuster did NOT total it . He said $ 6500.00 damage . The blue book on that car right now is 10 , 000 dollares ! Our friends you say ? Haha . Keep living in your own little world . I can see you will get screwed soon enough . By the way , I told her to raise Hell with the Insurance Co . ( Allstate ) . Damned low lifes . Most of those a**holes are going to Hell anyway . Glad they are your friends . You might just end up with them . 65 percent of her car is gone . the frame is bent as well . Lol .no t totaled

Usually your insurance company is your friend, while the jerk who hits your car has an insurance company who is not your friend.

For instance, when I got rear-ended by a Suburban while sitting at a red light, his insurance company fought with me over a $30.00 difference between getting a new part put on vs. refurbing the damaged bumper.

And this was over a bumper cover. I don't know what they would have tried to pull if the damage were more extensive!

Either way, you have rights, go with the body shop you trust and get the work done right.

Sometimes parking all the way in the back doesn't help the carts roll down the parkinglot increasing their speed and leaving a greater impact. I've seen people just leave their carts right in the middle lane of the parking lot. I would not be surprised if someone just pushed one down the parking lot without a care to whatever it's going to hit. I've seen THAT before more times than you can think of.

When I go to the grocery store I make sure to be quick about it, but I try to park it where most people don't park their vehicles but try to make sure it's not at the bottom on a slope of something like that.

uhmm. no.

my mazda 3 just got rearended 2 weeks ago and it was considered a total loss right off the bat. insurance companies dont always screw you over, i have geico (at least they dont). my car was an 05 mazda3, they gave me 16k for it. which is exactly what the kbb value was on it. used that money to pay off my car to mazda, and put a down payment on a tC.

seems like it's just YOU that got screwed over.

similar situation, my car is only like 3 weeks old, havent even made the first payment yet

I left my car at a chinese shopping center parking lot (same parking lot that gave me 3 different door dings in a single day from my older car) I made sure this time to park about 4 feet away from an inifnity, I think it was a g35. so Im thinking, expensive car... these people will be careful with their doors.. I come back 3 minutes later, the car is gone and a door ding on my driver side

I also had my car parked at a local electronics shop, it was a sale day so rabid customers parking and driving like jerks in the lot for a parking spot. I go out and see a shopping cart rash on my fender, deep enough to expose the the underlying and cant be waxed or buffed out. looks like the person next to me squeezed a shooping cart between our cars and hers was a new suv or something and I guess as she rolled through shed rather scratch up my car to avoid touching her car with the cart. I saw her park next to me.. SHE WAS THE ONE THAT PARKED NEXT TO MY CAR, and she still scratched it up...

I was really ____ed when I saw it. but by the time I left the store she was gone and my fender was scratched up.

some people are so rude, I wouldnt be so upset if my car wasnt brand spanking new.
