Is money a concern to you? Might want to contact insurance companies and see how much each would cost. As far as I know the mazda isn't available as a coupe, and I don't like or need 4 doors, but guess that's not an issue or you wouldn't be comparing them. Either one is a good car, and they're both fast enough to get a new driver in trouble (imo), so get whatever you like best.

I say go to both dealerships and test drive both cars. You're also asking the question to a Scion forum, majority of answers is going to be biased towards the tc. So get yourself to a dealership and test drive them.

test drive both and go with whichever you like better, obviously most ppl on here will choose the tc but i cross shopped both and the mz3 is a great car. i love the new speed 3 as well.

u should probably wait on getting a new car being 15 and all. just get a manual used car so u can learn stick if u already don't know how, wait a year, then after you've gotten good at driving get yourself the car of your choice. trust me man u don't want to be crashing a brand new car when ur barely start driving im not saying u will but...s***t happens

ha, two years ago i was trying to decide between the tC and the 3, i wound up getting an 05 black mica 3.

that car was totaled two weeks ago, so i've been deciding between the two again, this time i'm going with the tC,i ordered a super white one today.

the mazda3 is a great car though. i still love it. just want to go with my other choice this time.

(i think its funny how so many people are making their final decisions between the 3 and the tC)

get a beater, it would be cheaper on your parents and if you can buy it yourself you'll respect it a lot more.

i was on the fence about buying either a tC and a Mazda 3 when i bought my car. I test drove both of them, liked them both, but the tC just had that certain edge and "cooler" features than the Mazda 3 had...and at the time, there were hardly any other tCs on the road and i wanted to be different. so i bought the tC and a year later my best friend bought a Mazda 3, so its all good.
