For Those VIP Style Peeps That Care....
I was at the Wally world earlier, and went to the magazine
section and notice that the DUB mag's were advertising
Garson/DAD products along with the premier of the DAD
Benz with all the bling, tables etc.
I'm a bit dissapointed by this considering DUB was advertising
this and not some Import Mag. I just feel that GARSON/DAD
and they're VIP style is now going to be taken up by the wrong
hands here in the states and are going to do VIP style the
wrong way, like doing it on Chevy's and Caddies.
Just a little sad thats all, I'd hate to see it go the wrong way.
Any body else feel it could go wrong?

I believe that it is a bit harsh to overgeneralize and say "taken up by the wrong hands"....lets not forget domestic, international- we all are in the same hobby and passion which is to work on our cars. I love my jdm style, but damn do I also love some of the Cadillac's out there- some are done with great style and effort. So lets not hate and just say what ever and if anything, this gives us the opportunity to create a new style/ fad which can be truely unique and traced back to us as the origin. Now if only I could go for a ride in an Escalade on 24's or a classic continental convertable- Kennedy style

I see what your saying ROBs-xB but I think that Garson choose to advertise in DUB and not the other way around. I don't think DUB mag is hunting for more advertising but. But i get what your saying. Garson's choice on advertising on DUB mag is a combination of possibly being a cheap ad price and/or that they feel ppl that are readers of DUB will buy their products.....LOL yeah right.
On a positive note, it's good to see them starting to emerge into the US market more. Wish you had a scan of the ad.

my buddy is VIPing his lincoln, which is jdm...?0 lol he got a lincoln town car from japan that was imported from the US. Picked it up while getting his parts and visiting family there. It has all the japanese importation tags and the yellow inserts in the tail lights to make it legal. He already added the curtains. He also vip'ed his 240sx (which was crashed at d1

I think its a great idea. YOu don't think a VIP'd 300 chrsyler ,magnum, and charger would look good? Not all traditional brand VIP'd cars look right anyways. You think a toyota corolla would like nice VIP'd? Hell no. Point is, any right style of car can be VIP's no matter what brand it is, if its done with taste and class. Thats my 2 cent.
It's not that you cant VIP a caddillac, Just that it wont be VIP
it will only be Luxurious, VIP is JDM, for those who know of VIP
know that VIP originates from Japan. VIP is I believe a style
strictly for Imports not domestics.
The reason I posted the above is let peeps know that Garson/DAD
will now be better known because of these advertisments, which is
not a problem, just that people who drive domestics will probably like
the idea, and companies will probably see profit there and begin making
after market parts like the Tables, Curtains, etc. and copy the whole
VIP style idea to make it something its not.

Sorry for the "ranty screed," but here goes:
VIP is not only applied to cars that originate in Japan. Ever seen any of the Fabulous Mercedes?
You could probably VIP-out a Hyundai Azerra. Why not? A luxury car, some big, deep rims and a crazy body kit. But is it not "VIP" because it's not from Japan?
As you may know, you can't call a beverage "Champagne" unless it is actually made in the Champagne region of France. Otherwise it's just "sparkling wine."
So it's kind of like saying that a car from any other country other than Japan that resemblesa VIP ride is not truly VIP because it comes from another country.
I don't think it works that way, though.
People seem to treat VIP-style cars as some black art that only a few people really understand. IMHO, it's not that difficult. However, it's also not really that obtainable by most because it's usually very expensive to get into -- until manufacturers start knocking off these products and making VIP less exclusive.
I'm sure another trend will come along that is more exclusive, though; they always do.
