Default New tc/ Contents of glove compartment

I just recently got a new 2007 tc and in the glove compartment there were 2 black rubber/plastic oval bowl looking things. (i know thats a bad description but it's the best I can do) There were also 2 floor mat hooks and I installed them without a problem, but I have no clue where the 2 oval bowl things go or what they are for. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

Yeah, I got those, too. But they never explained to me where to install them.

They told me that it's something about ?colder? climates? And I live in FL, so they told me not to worry about them. :\

Yeah, I got those too when I purchased my 'o5 tC. They go somewhere under the car.
I can't remember where. I think it's in the manual.

Funny story: I had those too, and installed them.

...But can't remember for the life of me where I put them, either.

Check the manual, far as I remember it was just a matter of shoving them into holes somewhere under the seats.

Look under your car a bit behind the doors. There should be a hole in the frame that the rubber cap fits into. One on driver and passenger side each.

So what exactly are they, and what are they for?

I'm fairly certain northern delaers install them prior to delivery to keep snow and salt from getting jammed up in the frame.

If you didn't get them, there are only one of two explainations:

- Dealer installed them without you knowing.

- Salesmen tossed them in the trash so that he wouldn't have to explain what they were (because he didn't know either), or be forced to crawl underneath the car to install them in the event that you knew what they were.

hmmm... those things are supposed to be installed during the PDI.... aren't they?

hmm.. i think most times i've seen they were already installed at port.... no idea why they'd still be laying around in the glove box...

mine are STILL in my glovebox. I never took them out. I glanced at them once and decided I didn't know what the hell they were, and tossed them back in. I haven't seen them since.

It's a tire strap, you take your tire off and NOT get your grubby little hands dirty. There's also a blue bag in your hatch to place it in, so you don't get your interior dirty.....

I decided to find out exactly where these black plugs went. So I did a little investigating...
Here's the plugs

Out of the bag

Now if you look for the rear jack arrows, it kind of looks like they're pointing to something. Look under the car where the arrows are' pointing'.
You'll see a hole like this on the passenger's side...

And one like this on the driver's side...

Insert plugs as shown...(passenger's side)

Driver's side...

I think it took me longer to dig up the plugs (I couldn't remember where I put them) than it did to install them. I still have no idea what they are for. Hopefully somebody knows! Here's a funny quote from the plastic the plugs came in...

"IMPORTANT
To Pre-Delivery Inspector. Insert these rubber plugs into the holes of the center floor
side member extensions."

I guess I'm an 'Honorary Pre-Delivery Inspector'! :D
I suppose if you don't see the holes, YOUR Pre-Delivery Inspector was a hell of a lot better than mine! I hope this answers everybody's ?s.
