ok, so the new NAV system (scion) is great. easy to read, easy to navigate, and with randode's hack, a lot more fun.

BUT

navigating the iPod menus are very difficult, as there is no way to speedily get to what you are looking for. for example: let's say i want to search by artist. well i can do that, however, i have to scroll using the scroll buttons to search by name, and since my 60GB iPod is full, you can imagine that takes me a long time. even holding the scroll button down does not speed it up. i don't have five minutes to scroll through all of my artists. it seems like there should be an easier way to do this, but i have yet to find a solution... perhaps a software update will happen, as i am sure this will become a nuissance to many...

for now i will have to stick with playlists i suppose.

are you scrolling from the playing screen or from the "Main Menu" ? Mine seems to scroll ok from that menu. Through my artists, playlists and the such. Of course, you can't do this while moving unless you have done the override.

yes, i've done the override... it scrolls ok, it is just really slow because it does not operate like the slider on the ipod... and when you have thousands of artists and songs, it takes a long time to scroll through with the arrow keys on the side. even by page at a time.
