Hey thanks for checking out this post. Yeah it is HUGE and the pics will take forever to load. Once they have loaded, it may give you some insight on what you would like to do gauge wise! I have a lot of ideas to help if you are at a loss and a lot of things I would like to see happen that is unique that no one has done yet!

I have nothing but positive feedback from all my customers so rest assured you have no fear in having the led work performed!
- In case of any emergency, I STOCK gauge clusters and HVAC units, some for spare parts or testing, some just in case any issues ever were to happen.
- All of my work is 100% guaranteed. If you ever have an issue, I fix it period, no worries / no hassle.
- The bench is built to insure quality of the swap performed!
- All work performed with an ESD safe, temperature controlled soldering/desoldering station on an ESD mat.
- I have purchased plug in leads for the gauge cluster and HVAC units on the tC for bench testing before shipment.
- New digital variable regulated power supply for safe testing!

I have forked over large quantities of cash on very nice equipment to give you the quality you expect!

I make it easy...
- Red, White, Blue and Green LED's in STOCK to perform your swap!
- All the crazy mods such as two tone, reversed screens, color changing needles... NO PROBLEM!
- Return priority mail shipping INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE WORK!
- All swaps with appointment are completed within 24 hours of receipt "usually within 12 hours of receipt!"
- Fast shipping, parts are shipped back to you right when they are finished or the next shipping day!

Here are some random pics of needles I have done.. All my needle work is done with the best neon paints that show the best under LED light. All needles are 100% taken apart and cleaned so there is NO orange left period or any goofy two color look to the needles when they are done. I can do any color you wish and mix colors for any custom look you want!

Here are some new pics of a reverse ODO with white leds behind it. Also are some pics of a gauge cluster I just did for myself that is one of my toy units that I tear apart often. It has sky blue needles, blue two tone and reverse ODO. First pic is in DAYLIGHT so you can see what the reverse ODO looks like!

like.. below 3.5k rpm the needle is blue.. and above 3.5k rpm the needle turns red.

answer for my question?

Garage1217
06-20-2007, 06:25 PM
With the color changing needles, the base color of the needle is white, and then it turns to a color. I have meant to try a two color version but have not had time yet. Also sorry, did not see your post :)

So what would I be looking at in $ for this one:
http://www.garage1217.com/GAUGECLUSTERS/2-10-07/jcluster.jpg

Basically the blue/white 2tone is hawt with the red needles and I'd like the warning lights to stay normal.

You think I'd have any issues driving for a week or whatever the turnaround is without a cluster? Aside from speed, I guess fuel would be the biggest concern. Is that what most of your customers have done? Just drive without it for a while? I wouldn't be able to consider it for a couple of weeks, but trying to think of planning something...

Happy to do it for ya, but I do not sell the gauge faces. Led mods does for somthing like $150-$190??? for the faces..? I am in the process of designing my own but a lot of r&d is going into them to make them very affordable yet last as long as your car.

Hey man, I have a question. I did the swap on my gauge cluster myself but wanted to know if you would be interested in doing the factory radio and HVAC. Also I didnt do my needles because I was a bit worried about screwing them up or breaking them. What type of paint do you use for those and what did you use to get the yellow off?

how long does the process take from the time i send it to u to the time i get it back? can i just buy a setup from u without sending mine in?

Garage1217
03-03-2008, 10:49 PM
Hello, The process is very fast. For example, If I receive the gauges on a Monday, they ship out Tuesday via priority mail "return priority mail shipping is included in the swap price" so you will get them back Thursday or Friday. You can also pay extra to have them shipped express mail and they will get back to you in 1-2 days.

As for purchasing a setup, your gauge cluster holds your actual vehicles milage. So you have to have your original cluster modified. Thanks!

Sweet... hows the down time for 96701. u only need 1 day but it takes close to a week due to shipping right?

Garage1217
03-08-2008, 09:10 AM
Depends on how you ship, if you ship overnight to me and pay for overnight back it drops the down time to about 4 days total.

Hello, I was looking at ordering raw LED's and parts from your web site . My question is what LED's (0803?) are you using for auto/cruise displays for the tC. Thanks John

Garage1217
05-04-2008, 02:47 AM
You can use 100% plcc leds on the tC. Do not buy the smaller units for the tC.

Parfnut
05-04-2008, 03:18 PM
According to the diagram it looks like there are two smaller LEDs per for auto trans lights. Are you replacing them with two plcc LEDs or just one. The plccs appear to be twice the size as stock LEDs.

Thanks,

John

Garage1217
05-04-2008, 07:03 PM
Not sure were you are looking?? On the tC cluster, there are no other size leds other than plcc-2

If you are talking about the silver spots on the diagram, those are the contact pads, the photo is of a manual tranny cluster so no leds soldered in the auto section...

Parfnut
05-04-2008, 10:34 PM
Yeah you are correct. Now I see. I thought the ones to the right of the cruise control had two small LEDs. It is just the pads. Thanks I'll be ordering shortly. Have you done vinyl on the back side of buttons on the HVAC to try and keep the color the same as the cluster(I'm planning on going with two tone dash white/blue)? Sorry for all the questions I just want to make sure I get everything I need to complete the swap.

Thanks again,

John

The blue vinyl I have matches pretty much flawless, took me a long time to find vinyl this close to the blue led color!

Thanks! Just got my parts the on Friday. Can't wait to tackle this project! One last question. When I remove old polorized film what are you using to remove adhesive off the screen. I normally use WD40 for all adhesive removal, would that work or would you recommed something else?

Thanks! All your LED work looks great!

done any xb2's yet? how much would it be for the gauge cluster in all green?

XB2's require new gauge faces and I currently do not have a source for them as the only person that does made the maker of the faces "black cat customs" sign some sort of a deal were they cannot sell to any other swappers even though that said swapper has copied almost all of our work *LOL* Nice.

So in short if you get a gauge face, I can swap it no prob. And I have done xb2's locally. Runs $59.99 shipped back for the gauge cluster for a basic color change.

Hey Garage1217,
I was just starting my LED swap and was going with two tone cluster. Do you what the reasoning behind the white screen printing over some of the numbers and dashes are/ is this common on all faces? Is it because that is where the LED's are located and they wanted to diffuse the light around that area or in this just a flaw in the face.

Thanks,
J.P.

Also thanks for the fast shipping on my parts order!!

Garage1217
05-29-2008, 02:16 AM
The white backing is only to help reflect light under the gauge face / the same reason the plastic is white and the circuit board has white paint. Helps make it brighter and also makes a more even light.

Also good photo of how you apply the translucent viny!

Now be carefull, if you even scratch the paint were the MPH numbers are actually at, you can see through the gauge face!!!! If the white is scratched in any other gauge face location, it is no big deal.

Hello, Sorry I perform the work on the leds themselves, I do not use layover gauges so never had to find an illumination wire off the cluster. I used to know were the old diagrams were on the old scionlife site, but I do not any longer.

I was able to find the old electrical schematics post, not sure the year of your tC. Go through these to locate the illumination wire by pinout. I would do it for you, but in the middle of family night / on my mobile. If you cannot find it, hit me up.

Been a very busy few weeks with the new products on the website! Do not forgot to check out the new flagship LED dome lights! They are wicked!

We also now stock a longer festoon for the xA as well!

And for those that have older clusters with twist style bulbs, we have our custom built led replacements that cast a very even light! Mr2 guys are going nuts for them! I bet the Lexus guys will catch on quick as well!
