Default New Scion xB Paint/Rim ideas / suggestions

Hello,

So I'm getting an xB. Thats for sure. I had two ideas for paint jobs.

1. Get the Pearl White xB, then have it painted Yellow
2. Get the Black xB, then apint all the doors white like an old school Paddy Wagon

As for rims, are the 17" ones for $600 on the Scion site worth it? I would rather have black rims, but they are so expensive! I may just go with the silver 17's.

Thanks!

Well, I can't say much about the paint because I am against after market paint jobs because usually the factory paint is the best.

I have the 17 Enkei's with Pirelli P7000 Super Sport tires and I love them............they are alloys so they aren't chromed out!

Ok so you plan on buying a new car and then paying 4-5 thousand dollars to get it repainted a standard color? That's just stupid.

What scion site are you talking about and what wheels?

http://www.scion.com

They have an online Flash doohicky where you can set up the car the way you want.

Therr are only like 5 colors (sadly yellow isnt one) and an option for 17's for like $600.

Yeah - I've decided on aftermarket paint on a new car.

the wheels i like. getting your car repainted i don't like. you just killed your resale value by doing that so if you ever do get an xb and repaint it, i hope you either keep it forever or find someone who really likes yellow when you do want to sell it.

I dont even see a option on www.scion.com for 17" wheels for the xB. I see the 3 hub cap picks, a set of 15" alloys for $665 & a set of 18" wheels for $1,795. So where are these 17" wheels you want? or are you looking at the M-7 Spoke Alloy Wheel $665 thinking the 7 stands for 17"? As for the paint job, its your car do with it what you want.

You could have it covered in yellow vinyl like an admobile.

ookk.. well that ranks as about one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. don't know much about paint I take it????

Factory applied paint more often than not is total crap. 9 out of 10 cars needs badly to be wet sanded off the dealer floor, I've yet to see a car under $100,000 that I couldn't find 5 paint flaws in it in under 30 seconds. Have you bothered to look at the xB's engine compartment or the inside of the rear hatch??? No clearcoat and the paint is rough as can be. The paint on a Scion is the minimum thickness that can be applied without it being "too thin" by industry standards - in other words - with Scion factory - "a D- grade might be low - BUT YOU'LL STILL PASS!!!"

Aftermarket paint applied by a top notch shop FAR FAR FAR EXCEEDS the qaulity of factory applied paints. And that same top notch shop would never leave half the vehicle with no clear coat like Toyota will.

And no, I don't work at, for, in conjunction with or have any interest in any business that paints cars.
