Default buying a 2006 scion tc is there a big diff in auto/manual

I was wondering if buying a automatic scion compared to a manual scion if there would be a big difference when racing with after market parts such as headers, pulley, cold air intake, exhaust, etc. I know how to drive manual but having a automatic car starter is a big plus in the winter on long island. If there is going to be a big performance difference please let me know thank you all looking forward to hearing what you all have to say.

The performance parts you can get are basically the same, there a few exceptions though. in the quarter mile the autos are like a second behind a manual ? maybe a little more

The power to the wheels stock is about 10hp higher with the manual. With the mods you listed the difference will be even higher. So, if you're racing with those mods get a stick.

If you really want an auto to race with consider going forced induction - supercharger or turbo. If you have the funds. SC will be around $3K- $3500 more with dealer install. Turbo will be about $4,000+ DIY.

Manuals may be fun to drive, but autos, when F/I, will hold more boost when shifting b/c the engine wont be dropping its RPMs as much. The only thing is the A/T can only handle so much power and you will need an aftermarket piggy back like the emanage ultimate or better to control the shift points on the tranny. ZPI offers internal upgrade work on A/T if you go that route to get you well into the 300+whp range I believe.
