Ive tried to search for the answer to this but got a quick question. When I put my lights on hi beam, are the low beam lights suppose to stay on? When I pull back about half way on the lever to put the hi beams on momentarily, both the hi beams and low beams are on. I like this much better.

If they are suppose to stay on, any suggestions on where to start looking to fix the problem? Both the low beam and hi beam works great, just not together.

 

I agree they are much brighter with both...but unfortunately that isnt the way they are set up....yours are working fine.

 

yep, yours work fine, I think that if they were set up to run both high and low beams at the same time 1 you would blind everyone and 2 the bulbs would burn out much faster

 

I apparently blind everyone anyway because Im always getting the brights flashed at me. I dont want to run both all the time, just while I would have the hi beams on. Why do you think the bulbs would burn out faster? Would they burn out faster than say running just the low beams or just the high beams?

 

because your burning both elements in the bulbs at the same time, this also makes the bulbs much, much hotter, and the stiff suspension is part of the reason your getting flashed

 

You can always adjust your light pattern down a little bit, that way you don't get flashed anymore. I did that, and never got flashed again since. I also had put in Silver Stars and they were brighter than stock bulbs.

 

Am I missing something. If he has stock headlights it's just 1 bulb, the H4.
Does he have projectors that have high and low bulbs?

 

Stock xB headlight bulb has 2 filaments built-in. Lo and Hi beam. It is like havng 2 bulbs in one housing.

In majority of cars with this type of a bulb only one filament is turned on at a given time. Some cars which have separate Hi and Lo beam bulbs and reflectors allow for both Lo and Hi beam to be on while using Hi beams.
