Anyone having any problems with a 19 inch wheel and tire combo on their TC. What offset wheel and what size tire is the best setup to prevent any problems?

A minor one: i used to get about 30 mpg highway with stock wheels; now i am getting about 26 mpg with 19 inch trd wheels.

yeah that's the trade off getting big a$$ wheels that's why im looking more into performance rather than looks. i might just go for 18" and try to find the lightest amongst them

what kind/size of rims u have in ur car?

19" R/H evolution pro with Pirelli P-Zero Nero 225/35/ZR19 tires.

One of the local speed shop says that with the RH C2's I ill have to run a spacer to clear the caliper. Racing hart says that it should be all good. What offset are you using. Will a 235 35 19 tire fit. Any pix of your ride?

Big brake upgrade

Must be a fairly heavy wheel/tire combo if you lost 4 mpg. Try to find some 19s that are lighter than the stock 17s and provided you keep the overall rolling height the same (get the right size tire) you shouldn't lose any mpg unless of course you're just concerned with the look.

I'm with mksm2000, looking for 18s because it's easier to find a lightweight wheel in them and I'm not willing to trade off performance for looking "cool", but the J5 TRD is OEMing is a nice wheel. It's a shame they don't have it in the black chrome for the lighter cars.

Got my wheels. I went with the 19 inch Axis Hiro Anthracite wheels. Springs are on order. Will post pictures after springs are on. Hopefully gas mileage doesn't drop too much. Still has to be better than my 04 Avalanche.

19X8's with a bolt pattern of 5-100, and an offset of 45mm and either 215/35R19 or 245/30R19's will work without any problems.

i've searched a lot but haven't found very much info from people running 18's on their tC's...was going to get 19's but local roads are too bad...i dont like the tucked look so i'd like to go with a lower offset to push out the wheels...any suggestions on offset for 18X8 or 18X9 wheels...tire width doesn't really make a difference..just whatever will work best...any info would be appreciated...

i'm running 19 x 8.5 in front and 19 x 9.5 in the rear. Both with +37mm offset...

no rubbing at all in the front ... slight rubbing in rear. I had to roll the fenders half way to counter this. All in all..wonderful ride.

i've seen those pics before. those are really nice wheels. they look BMWish. too bad they only come in 19".

Those rims are badass!! they look like those $10,000 Karllsonns, or Alpinas that they put on the Beemers, and Benz's.

I told Alex how nice they looked in the pics, and how they looked even better in person.

hey brad i thought you were gonna rock those on your matrix......maybe after the holidays? :D anyway an 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 will work as well, the longo tc had them the first day they had the car....they were so anxious they lowered it about 3 inces from cutting the coils and that car looked so hard with the wheels

I see the term "staggered" fit used a lot. What does this mean?

staggered pretty much means that there are 2 different size rims/tires being used. for example, hes got 19 x8.5 in the front and 19 x9.5 in the back.

someone had posted in another thread that 19in wheels will void your warrenty.....does this make sense to anyone out there?? i cant think of any truth to this...can anyone else?

I believe the TRD wheels come in 19" as factory option...

1) talk about reviving a dead thread....:P
2)running TRD rims, dealer installed or not, will *not* void your warranty. Period.
It's called the Moss/Magnussen act, which states that the dealer has to *prove*, in writing no less, as opposed to simply stating, that either the parts themselves (not an issue since they are TRD parts) or the installation caused damage to the items being warrantied. Clearly, if you take TRD rims to a tires shop, that does tire mounts/installs for business, they know what they are doing, and therefore, there is no way Scion/the dealer is goingto be able to prove faulty install.

Furthermore, ther eis no way to 100% void your warrranty...for example: if you turbo'd your car, and the engine blew, Scion could prove the turbo was responsible, and the warranty for that engine repair would be voided. However, if a month later, the electrical system in your car died, and the entire brain had to be replaced, that issue would be covered under warranty, because it would be near impossible to prove a turbo blew up your ecu.

I was really just teasin ya about the reviving the dead thread...by all means, if you ahve a serious question about something, even if the post is old, go ahead and ask it. Some people will ask the question in a new thread, and reference the old one, but its your choice.

As far as the warranty stuff goes however, that's all 100% accurrate. You can do a search on here, or google, or wherevere, for the Moss/Magnussen act, and you'll get tons of info, sayiing hte same thing :)

Alex - since this thread has popped back up, have you had any issues with the clear on your rims? Mine are starting to peel on the lips, and Im not sure what I should do. I think Im gonna get some polishing compound and just polish them up...

alsoone more point to make, re: the warranty....*all* TRD parts have 12months warranty on them, regardless of whether they are dealer installed or not. :P

funny u ask that...

the clear coat on the lip are peeled on some spotty areas and it's due partly to me. I used a "rim cleaner" made by Turtle Wax...and it messed up the clear coat in some areas. The cleaner stated that it's "SAFE" for clear coats and so on... I HATE TURTLE WAX FOR FALSE ADVERTISING...

I will be machine polishing the lip shortly to illeviate that problem and rid of few minor scuffs on the lip edges (the pain u pay with stretched tires).

I like the ultra machine polish lip anyways...
