If you look at the Valor tip dead on, you see the reflective end of the double wall construction.

You removed the snorkel from the air cleaner box, but recorded the sound of the muffler. I thought the snorkel affected the sound of the intake, not the exhaust.

actually it effects sound from EVERYWHERE. the growl is deeper, meaner and leaner. i can make an engine recording for you if you want it.... but it wouldnt sound too different.... gotta say this is free so who needs a short ram/cai for 100+?

LOL. removing just the bs snorkel hardly even changes intake note and it absolutely cannot alter an other sound the vehicle makes.

So you recorded the muffler sound because removing the snorkel made the muffler louder.

actually sir, it DOES make your exhaust louder, or at least it sounds deeper to me! maybe you took a different part off yours if you did it, but when i removed my SNORKEL it created a deeper, throatier growl, that was louder, meaner and perfect!

I removed the snorkel for a day and did notice a slight growl, but the biggest thing was the increase in intake temps. According to my scanguage the temps went up by an average of more than 45 degrees. Is it worth it?? I dunno

I agree with mrfuzzy, removin the snorkel does make ur exhaust have more of a growl to it. I've done it to several different cars and all have had a deeper intake n exhaust sound. The most drastic was a 06 Corolla S which made a huge difference in both intake n exhaust. The car breaths deeper it exhales deeper.

ex-pter, do u have anymore #s on intake temp. Like what was the outside temp when u too that readin, the intake temp with the snorkel, at idle or movin. I've seen 125* in traffic on a 90* day with the snorkel on my scanguage, just tryin to see what I should expect.

by snorkel on the xb do you mean you take the filter cover off and rn it with no filter or do you mean you remove the little snorkel thing.... cause removing that little snorkel thing pretty much does nothing

The snorkel is the tube coming out from the bottom of the airbox, and yes it does make a difference.

Which would make the exhaust sound better: a K&N filter, or a CAI, or removing the snorkel?
