Well, with a heavy heart I had to say goodbye to my Yellow Scion 2.0.

While crossing an intersection close to our house I got hit by a 16 year old that did not stop on red. He didn't just tap me. He had enough speed to crush the passenger side of the car, pick the car up flip it once and spin the car 360".
For all of that I am pretty well off. Nothing broken (maybe a rib), bunch of bruises and a little back pain with some weird parts hurting or numb.

Pictures are found here:
http://www.laqua.com/pics/main.php?g2_itemId=3486&g2_page=1

Now I am dealing with insurances and lawyers, not so much fun! Can anyone point me to a site or a list of what parts other then the yellow where special in the 2.0? I know the signal in the rear view mirrors and the spoiler in the back. What else?

i'm driving a tC because another 16 year-old took out my 96 volks gti.

hope all ends well 4 u.

DC exhaust and special mesh upper grill and the yellow accented interior fabric. Off the top of my head. Glad you are OK.
Seems like now that these are not being made anymore that they are dropping like flies.

Holy crap! So you rolled it? Actually doesn't look to bad considering it rolled. Of course, it's totalled. Are you getting another Scion?

I'm rather curious about how the hub cap got onto the windshield...inside the wiper bracket.

(1) Glad you came through in decent shape! :)
(2) Sad to see an RS2 go down. :(

Sounds like the box absorbed a lot of punishment.

I'm more concerned on how it was towed improperly. They ruined the front bumper lip with what looks like the old bumper strap lift from the golden days of heavy steel bumpers.
The graphic on the side doors looks just like a bullseye and he hit it!!!

Not sure if you can call it a roll since (from what people tell me) it flipped kinda John Woo style. That's why no or little sign of damage on the roof. I ended up comming to rest on the driver side.

As far as tow goes... Don't think they did it wrong. From what I know that happend at the end of my 360" I hit the curb and dammaged the front of the car.

#2 ive seen a few pics of side impacs and alot of front. every time i looks like the little box took the hit very well.
althow i did see the crash test video and i don't think i would want to get hit on the drivers side, it might hert just a little.

NOOOOOO

Another Atlanta box lost. Do you know what salvage yard it's going to? Will you by
another box to replace it?

The list of RS features for the 2.0 is:

Mirror covers
Door sill plates
Rear spoiler
Upper grill
Color matched upholstery
Dc Sports exhaust

Optional RS 2.0 parts include the color matched strut bar and color matched AEM
cold air intake

and of course its a numbered and badged limited edition. Only 2500 built.

Good to see you are ok! As far as RS 2.0 parts/accessories...I can think of a few. 1. mirrors 2 seats 3. exhaust 4. door sill enhancements 5 grill...I know there are more, I just can't think of them all. I'm sure someone will correct me on here.
Glad you are well enough to type!

Do you know what salvage yard it's going to? .

Shark! Way to sneak that in! :lalala:
I was gonna ask a similar question.

Glad to hear you're relatively OK, Karsten. Make sure you have good (not adequate) representation.

from the way it looks right now I am most likley getting a new one. Since the Yellow is pretty much not available anywhere and I end up having to do a wrap of the car anyway I will probably go that way.

DUDE! I am so sorry about your accident! I am glad to hear you're ok tho - and I can totally relate since my Hot Lava was just totalled. I am looking for another car and after 2 Scion xBs I just can't picture myself having anything else - - - or paying more for gas! I will start looking at some used xBs today (I hear there is a pretty sweet torched penny on the classifieds for sale  )

Glad you're ok. Cars are replaceable; people are not.

How's the kid that hit you?

Karsten
06-16-2007, 02:26 PM
The kid.... well physically he is ok.

Sadly he didn't seem to learn from his mistake. The only thing I hear is that he seems to wear this accident as a batch of honor. He goes around town bragging that he was the one that caused the accident.

glad to you're alright. maybe there are some 16 year olds reading this that will learn from this.

and of course, my comment:
ok, so you go john woo 360 carflip with your xb and get popped by another car and the windshield is just fine. however, a pebble taps my windshield and WHAMO, my windshield gets a makeover :P

LOL, sorry dude :) I rather had the stone in my window ;)

I was rather supriced how many windows did survive!
The police report acctually states that he hit me going 45mph. Considering that my Scion Did very well! Just don't want to imagine what would have happened if I had someone in that passanger seat!

Im sorry to here that man... however, I do have one funny thign to point out:

if you hit up that link, the truck behind your box says "boxes in colour, enhance your product's image"

Considering the punishment the box took, and how well you faired, I think thats right on the money.

well... technically..his insurance will pay... he should have insurance considering you're in ga and ga requires that you have ins to drive the car... if he doesn't then he will probably go to jail.. his parents will me liable.. you can sue his parents for just about everything they got if the car is not insured... i'm sure you won't do that.. and i'm sure that they have ins on the car... i'm sure the car is insured for the parents to drive but he is driving the car.. considering this, the premium for their ins will go up.. drastically..
also... depending on the damage... and the cost to the ins company... they might drop the parents from their policy... if that happens then the kid's dl will be revoked for about 6 mos to a yr... all in all.. let us know what happens

I got my new Box. I went with the 08. there is things I like so far, also some things I dislike. I post some pictures and details on my feelings soon.

No new on th Insurance battle. I got transfered to the third person / agent now and not really making any headway. Looks like the laywer will get going soon. Sad that one can't get by without anymore.
