Its a proto-type and this is the first test fit on a tC at 5Axis. I will have a painted finished product photo next week on a show ready tC when it is introduced at Scion Exposed. Troy Sumitomo was just trying to help out here. We know the car is dirty...the part is not finished either. It is simply a sample. 3d graphic designs of this had been posted but it is hard to concieve what a new idea looks like until it is actually produced and on a car. I thought this might help everyone see a new concept.
Also keep in mind that minor changes will be made before production. Some dimensions may be changed and the design tweaked out based on comments received at the show. Here is another example of a different design that I made for my TT 5 years ago.

Thanks for the feedback so far. Not everyone is going to like this but enough people will especially when its finished and we make a few changes. This is a new concept and will take time to catch on. I am willing to take the risk to bring new ideas and products to the Scion community and take a lot of flack for it but thats ok. I could easily add 1000 plus items to my site overnight but then I would have everything that everyone else is trying to sell...just the run of the mill get it anywhere kind of products. This one is mine and I can handle whatever you wnat to throw my way. I can apply this product to the new Mustang ,Z,Corvette and fifty plus other models on the market. It can also be upgraded to stainless steel or brushed aluminum. I have nine different designs this is just the first one called the HeadHunter. It is designed to add some flavor to the wide expanse of glass on the tC without obstructing your view. It covers primarily the black teflon and glue areas of the tC window. Everyone said that Edison and Einstien were crazy!lol Look what happened with their stuff...you rely on those inventions everyday. Granted this is a non functional cosmetic enhancement to your car and is not going to change anyones life or maybe it will....it just might be that new fresh thing that judges are looking for to put you over the top at a show or set you apart at your weekly parking lot party.Carbon fiber will add a lot to this part. This proto is being painted factory Flint mica and will be on a car at Exposed. Again thank you for the feedback and keep it coming good, bad, or indifferent its all good to me.

i cant believe 5axis would want their fingerprints on this trainwreck :-/
WOW, so harsh! Steve is a good freind of one of my friends and I am doing this as a work for hire. It is not my job to criticize other people's designs or their passions as it is mine to help make their visions come true with the skills that I have.

As a designer I will always try and implement some ideas into the execution and make some suggestions. Regardless, it's no different than buildng a showcar that Toyota, Honda, or any of my other clients design. My job is to execute it using the highest level of techniques and processes to insure the product comes out top notch in quality.

So YES, I will put my fingerprints on anything that I feel is a good project. In this case, I am also helping out a friend I respect very much also.

Calling it a trainwreck is a bit harsh! Saying "I don't like it or it's not my bag" would also have given the same message. Besides don't be so quick to judge until you see the real thing in person. I believe it has a strong market out there.

Great question I was waiting for this one. If you look at the design it occupies the black teflon and glue areas where the glass adheres to the body so that they do not obstruct view. The center piece was also designed so that view would not be obstructed by creating the openings down the center. Looking at the photo of my Audi you would think that design obstructs view but it does not at all...I can see everything. It is a new take on the old louvre designs of the sixties, seventies, and eighties. They used to be bulky and sat high off the glass. This design is flush mounted for a clean modern look. It will adhere via 3m adhesive and does not need to be removed from the car. It can withstand high speeds...I have tested it to 135mph and can go through an automated car wash no problem. As you can see with Troy in the engineering captains seat, quality, fit and finish is both of our top priorities. This is what my company has provided to the Scion community for two and a half years now. Dont forget my trademark Dare 2B Different! I live by it.
