View Full Version : Blitz xA/xB Supercharger thru Toyota?
mill0048 09-26-2004, 02:48 AM While surfing today, I stumbled on this:
http://www.autoblog.com/entry/7280853642917386/
I gotta get one! Has anyone heard of this? They say that it is available thru Scion w/ the warranty. Can anyone confirm this? Any dealers/salesmen hear of this? More info for the power starved masses please!!! :!:
fr130 09-26-2004, 03:03 AM That's a first. They may have confused the dealer installed S/C for the tC. 1-866-70-SCION will tell ya the info. $3500 is still a lot of money though.
chucksu 09-26-2004, 03:04 AM http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28310 Does not have much info, but it was the first post about the S/C
mill0048 09-26-2004, 03:31 AM Shame on me for not searching... Still, I'm interested as it seems that the information available on a factory warrantied forced induction systems (whether thru TRD or otherwise) seem to be all over the map. Nobody can agree on anything. Maybe it won't happen at all...

The best thing about the kit is its ability to play nice with dealerships— since the parts are sold and installed through the Scion network, no warranties will be voided.
Maybe its just a Dealer option, so they offer you some little warrantie out side of Scions? If this was a Scion option, would we not see it on www.scion.com?
Edit: On a side note, hey Darren, did that site ask you if they could post that picture? It links straight to the site review, but I still see the water mark & no talk about the site other then the picture linking to it. Not sure just wondering.
mill0048 09-26-2004, 04:54 PM I'll call some dealers Monday/Tuesday (gotta wait for Jeanne to pass) to see if I can find some answers.
velocitybb 09-27-2004, 05:39 AM Word on the streets is that for the ones that got automatic xb's, its not worth getting. I can't remember the topic in the forum, but there is a problem though. I think its the one entitled Blitz or PE Supercharger.
WANABOX 02-22-2007, 06:17 AM i got my sc installed at dealer with a warranty.
KllrB 02-22-2007, 11:40 AM This is not an option offered by Scion, therefore it does not carry the Scion Factory Warranty. The dealership can, however, offer their own warranty for what they sell and install, but it is in no way part of the Scion factory warranty. The only place that will honor the warranty is the dealership that you purchased it from - or other branches that they may have.
There have been some issues with the Blitz S/C. I believe its with the engine management system. I've read that Greddy probably has a better S/C kit for the XB. I'm running their turbo kit and have not had any problems with it...yet(knock on wood).
For $3500, you would have more versatility with a turbo kit. There are some good bolt-on turbo kits out there.
mill0048 02-22-2007, 11:21 PM Wow! Talk about necroposting!
How true you are KllrB. The "warranty" is only thru the dealer. At this point your Official Scion powertrain warranty is essentially voided. Should any problems arise and they're traced back (or even potentially traced back) to the S/C, Scion will not cover the repairs claiming it's modification that caused the failure. However, the dealer and their chain/franchise should honor their "warranty" offered for all such damage.
That being said, I've since (read: 5/21/06) gone and purchased the Greddy S/C for $2400 to my door. It's great! I did the install in the driveway with simple tools on a Saturday. I've averaged 26.998 mpg since (compared to stock of 28.391). I drive pretty aggressive and enjoy the throttle. No problems yet either.
Turbos are nice due to the potential power gains. But as the power rises so can the cost. S/C's are for lazy people :P; like me! Either way, all the confused looks by drivers of sportier/more expensive/performance oriented cars are priceless!
KllrB 02-23-2007, 01:13 AM Wow...I just realized how old this thread is.
WANABOX 02-23-2007, 06:16 AM i am having serious problems with my sc from blitz and wouldn,t tell anyone to get a blitz sc. i need serios help with hessitations and running to lean. my dyno sheet whent up gradualy but looked like a four year old drew the line up down up down up down and a huge drop at 5000 rpm. if anybody has any ideas on what to do i got hossed by the dealer and paid about 4800 4 the kit and am not happy. mabe stock injecters out of the tc will fix the problem but 4 everybody else dont get a blitz sc take it from me to expensive and blitz doesnt back there product.
KllrB 02-23-2007, 07:00 AM I heard that the problem lies with the piggy-back that comes with the kit. I'm not sure who it was, but they replaced it with an E-manage and retuned from there. You might want to try to pull the EFI fuse, or disconnect the battery for a couple of minutes to reset the ECU - it might help. Your best bet is to replace the piggy-back with an E-manage and find someone who has the Greddy S/C kit and is willing to share their MAP with you. It looks like mill0048 has one on his box.
mill0048 02-24-2007, 05:11 PM I read posts about resetting the ECU periodically with the Blitz a while back. How did the dealer "Hose" you? How long ago did you purchase the vehicle? Who is the dealer? What does their warranty cover? There's bound to be some recourse here as long as their warranty is still valid.

What other modifications have you done?
What is the A/F Ratio?
Sounds like someone screwed up. And blindly throwing TC Injectors in there isn't going to do much if it's not mapped to take advantage of the excess fuel.
