View Full Version : Catback system/Injen CAI and exhaust legal in WA? mriches 06-20-2007, 07:21 PM anyone? kkawana 06-20-2007, 07:39 PM as long as you can pass an emisions test you should be good to go... in theory you shouldnt need one for the first 3-4yrs if bought here... if moving from out of state... i dunno.. check with the DOL if/when you need to get emmisions testing mriches 06-20-2007, 08:46 PM the thing was ultra low emissions before, so i cant imagine why not flyingcesar 06-20-2007, 09:06 PM Having a CAI and aftermarket exhaust is illegal and will fail a visual inspection which is very unlikely to be needed on such a new car un less a cop stops you and wants to be a pain. Rule of thumb no CEL you will pass OBD II emissions if your CEL is on then you won’t. Kanchi 06-20-2007, 09:46 PM No probs w/ my set up yet, CAI, exhaust....don't even get looked @ by the cops! tCeeJay 06-21-2007, 08:52 PM I had a 2000 civic si up until 1 month ago and it had a cai, headers and exhaust setup. I passed 2 emissions tests and never pulled over by the cops either. dugzilla 06-21-2007, 09:45 PM CAI is a factory option on these cars, so I doubt it would be illegal, and the exhaust can be aftermarket as long as it's not louder than stock. Adorian 06-28-2007, 06:55 AM i have a CAI larger injectors and a block back stainless exhaust that deffinitely kills 92 db when i get on it... still blows a 5 gas analyzer and no CEL so its all good. something i reallized is that in this area there are so many modded cars that unless you are doin something dumb cops dont even bother. oops... posted as my g/f again... this is downhillspec Importspeed 06-28-2007, 07:42 AM lol i knew it had to been you erik lol i was like what the heck she has the same setup as your ride lol Kanchi 06-28-2007, 03:23 PM The only area its a big deal is California, the only way you are going to get in trouble is if you are being a total jerk to the cop or you are busted street racing. So keep your nose clean and you will be fine! |
