Anyone close to the "source" knows what the color choices for the xD will be?

So far I've seen red of some sort light silver and something similar to flint mica.

I wish they had a slightly darker silver (called "thundercloud metallic" by some manufacturers), but I might have to settle for silver. Gotta have something reflective in this part of the country...

Found the answer to my own question on the Toyota press site:

"...will be available in six exterior colors, Super White, Silver Streak Mica, Black Sand Pearl, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Barcelona Red Metallic and Nautical Blue Metallic."

Magnetic Gray metallic is kinda like Flint Mica, put with less green pearl in it.

Still no darkish silver. Sucks.

the barcelona red is also really hot.

The Barcelona is the only decent color for the xD out of the box. Hopefully Scion will come up with some nice colors when they start doing the RS editions.

thought i heard Barcelona red was for the prototype only,still,not great choices,id like to see a royal blue

I hate that Scion only sells hot colors on "RS" models. I mean, OK, save the green or yellow, or color shifting paint for a special edition, but red and blue?? C'mon.

All of the Scion competition can be had in bright red and royal blue colors stock. Hell, even Toyota offers speedway blue and bright red on their cars, right off the lot. Once again, the new Scions only come in dark, muted colors.

When my girlfriend was car shopping I suggested the xA, she said, "do they have a red one?" I was like, "well, they... kinda, yeah.... well, not anymore.... but..... well, no, they don't." Long story short, she loves her new bright Milano Red Honda Fit.

I personally think the xD would sell better if it ONLY came in hot colors, like burnt orange, rally red, speedway blue, and so on. Wouldn't that make it more "hip, cool, and youthful" like Scion wants? What market research was Scion looking at when they decided that young people like maroon and teal?

however,the original markting campaign seemed to shoot for an underground,darker style of customers,the darker colors for the xD may be scions way of trying to go back to the underground style

The Barcelona is the only decent color for the xD out of the box. Hopefully Scion will come up with some nice colors when they start doing the RS editions.Sad but true. I'd have thought Scion would have learned their lesson with the crappy color palate. Guess it only makes the RSs more desirable. :eyebrow:

How hard is it to make a darker silver Scion? I guess if we all got our desired colors, the car prices would've gone up by another $1-2K on average...

Thundercloud would have been NICE on the xD.
