Default Help me mod my box! POLL

Well, it's time to do my next mod. I've always hated (maybe "hated" is too strong a word) the stock xB tail lights so I'm finally getting around to fixing that. But I'm really having a hard time deciding what tails to go with...

I'm liking the simplicity of the redout technique:
https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=172037

But I have the money to do something else if I wanted...

Some of these are LEDs, which are cool but not necessary for me.

[EDIT] Ok, I tried to get links up there instead of just text but I can't get it to work.

I voted for the chrome round ones even though i have the chrome LED ones.
I think if you made the link like this http://www.acurisgroup.com/TailLights/Round_CH.jpg it would work better.

i dont see whats so special in led tails... the redout is cheap, but mine is starting to fade a tad..... just keep that in mind, its the cheap mans way out. go with the black if you dont remove the tape, but if u do go white to keep it coheirent (sp).... i loke some of those, like those circles...

and where did u find the 5th one?

Yeah, I'm not huge on the LED either...I mean they look good...but no better than any of the other ones I have listed (IMHO).

I found them all on ebay except the DIY redout one.

I have a '06 xB and I went for the TYC's for the front and rear. I really like them over most others. The LED's look a little strange to me for some reason. The front round bulbs on some of the tuner xB's are very nice too. I may change the frot for them.

Here is the rear TYC lense I have.

Cool ride there, SecretAgentMonkey.

I like those. Where did you get them and how much? I'd prefer someplace that takes paypal. I've got some money in there collecting dust.

I wouldn't call it a "Cool ride" quite yet...I haven't done much to it yet. Thanx though.

the LED lights are the best when they are in action. just looking at the light assemblies they arent gonna look much better than stocl. its the instantaneous off/on that looks sweet with LEDs while using regular bulbs you get to watch the filament heat up and cool down causing slow movement of light.

LEDs are the future lighting on all cars i imagine as the technology becomes more affordable for all the manufacturers to use. They are better in everyway, shape, and form over filament bulbs.

Says the guy sellin' LEDs.

Eh, LEDs are alright. The light quality is better, I'm not denying that...but so far I haven't been all that impressed with the style of the LED tail light assemblies I've seen. I don't think they look all that much better than stock or redout. And to be honest, I don't care if filament bulbs take another 1/1000th of an second to light up.

hey its true though. how do you think i got into this? cuz i was makin all this stuff for me. figured might as well start making it for other people too :-)

I guess LEDs are more just the lighting look of luxury as of now. Its slowly trickling down though, alot of hondas and toyotas come stock with them already.

Hi SecretAgentMonkey,

I bought mine through the local Scion dealership. I spent $276.00 on them back in July '06. I think they are the perfect blend between stock and LEDs. I rarely see them on the local bare-bone-boxes running around.

I looked around Live Search and found several places that carry the TYC brand, but they did not seem to use paypal. So after a little more looking...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SCION...QQcmdZViewItem

These are 100 bucks cheaper than mine! Many Scion dealers special order these for the 275.00 price range so this is a great price! I do not know anything about the seller but he has a 99.99% rating and has been on eBay since 2004.

Wow, those are pricey. Ok, in all your travels, did you see them for cheaper that $175 someplace that doesn't take paypal?

Default ...What do they look like?

I voted for the URL with the longest string.

I would have loved to see the tail lights that we are voting on.

Huh, you're C&P key must be broken.

Actually, I tried a few things trying to get the links to work but gave up after it wouldn't let me edit the poll anymore.
