brian 06-28-2007, 05:31 AM that won't work on his aftermarket bumper. i'd go with a different exhaust.
BuddhasTC 06-28-2007, 05:34 AM by taking off the stickers...j/k
Do you have a side pic also...because it doesn't look like it would melt / burn the actual rear lip...maybe the inside plastic piece, but not the lip itself
will the tailpipe actually go through the cutout? if so, get a muffler shop to fabricate a midpipe for you that will make the axleback extend out farther. the hangers will allow a little bit of room for the exhaust to be adjusted.

do they make it for the xB?
LiQuIdBlItZ770 06-28-2007, 06:07 AM lol actualy the stickers are not that bad. ill take some pics of it. looks ugly from the position. yea the carbon shield won't work. but can i put that heat wrap they put on turbos and outline the top and sides of the bumper at the exhoust cut out area. it doesn't touch. its about a lil more than half an inch from the bumper/ exhoust cut out. but exhoust doesnt extend past the exhoust cut out. is that a bad thing?
Uhhvictor 06-28-2007, 07:27 AM Mine melted.. i have the TRD exhaust and RS1 Lip kit

its all black and crusty.. :[[[

is it started to melt?? because since i changed to HKS my bumper is fine and its not melting.. no black smoke.. nothing...
nebster 06-28-2007, 12:28 PM look at the top you can see the melting. The only thing i know is to drop it down a bit and use zip ties. But i'm nto really sure. you could make a stainless or some sort of eqv metal and shape it but that would be pretty tough and take a lot of time. the only other option i see is to change the exhaust
LiQuIdBlItZ770 06-28-2007, 03:20 PM thx guys ; )

kiss_kiss_kill 06-28-2007, 04:08 PM 2 options. Get that part of your bumper sprayed with high temp paint or get a heat shield. I have a Kaminari kit & my HKS exhaust started murdering my bumper within 2 days & my friend custom fabricated me a one-off carbon fiber heat shield.

Pardon the crappy sidekick photo. It's all I have in my photobucket account.

dude i cant seem to find anything along these lines on there
HKSpeed 06-28-2007, 05:06 PM i'd take it to a muffler shop and have them add .25-.5 inch of piping in the HKS piping and modify the hangers to stick further outwards. as a temporary fix, you can try getting clear vinyl sticker material (or matching blue) and put several layers of it around the bumper portion facing the tip. its easier and cheaper to replace the vinyl as it burns up over time.

CSOCSO 06-28-2007, 06:27 PM just tape around the same part wath that cf heatshield would cover and paint it with high heat paint...... same color what ur car is but heat resist paint.
but im tellin ya.. i have HKS with titanium tip and i have no probelms now... no burnt smell.. no dust on my bumper.. nothing
LiQuIdBlItZ770 06-28-2007, 09:27 PM damn the color of my car is so hard to match... is there a clear coat of heat resistant paint???
nebster 06-28-2007, 09:50 PM nope, seriously i'd just get a piece of stainless, bend it to shape and take some rivits and rivit it in there
w3paint_xA_xB 06-28-2007, 10:00 PM nope, seriously i'd just get a piece of stainless, bend it to shape and take some rivits and rivit it in there
yea i might do this , cuz i cant find anything for the xB
nebster 06-28-2007, 10:03 PM thats what i'd do, and you can even paint it black to make it look purdy
CSOCSO 06-29-2007, 03:53 AM even if the paint is not matching.. just paint it to black or whatever.. only that part what the CF heatshield would cover..
